PMK
The inspired machine I got came with a bolt in front wheel as shown in the photo. As a beginer rider, or in general, is it acceptable to install a Quick Release to make transporting easier. If the QR would be acceptable, are any brands better than others. If this is a bad idea, I can always bring the wrench. PK
Luke Rainbird
No real issues with running a QR instead of bolts at all
AdamR28
As above, get a Shimano one if you can, cheaper the better.
PMK
Thanks guys. Found an old Bontrager QR in some spares I had. If the Bontrager has issues of loosening with use I'll rob a Shimano from another bike. PK Edited January 2, 2015 by PMK
Jake.
Are quick releases heavier? Just curious...
PMK
Are quick releases heavier? Just curious... Yes, the QR is heavier, but the reality check is this entire bike is heavy. PK

HarryBradbury
From my experience (i have the same hub as you), when I would turnout or hit the front wheel on the floor it would make an annoying clunking noise with the quick release but not with the bolts. Quick release was done up as tight as possible but would still make the horrible noise. Just something to bare in mind
jnthebiker
Go for it! A friend of mine uses a QR on the front of his GU, feels amazing!
Alex Dark
........ feels amazing! Not sure if serious? As said above old cheap shimano qr's are your best bet, but I'd just run a bolted axle for the security.
dngr2self
I ran qr with no issues. I wouldn't say it felt amazing but it was certainly no different to bolts.

Yeah, I'm serious. It's really solid and feels great. I almost wish I was running one haha.

Mate it improves your riding 10 fold! When I used to have one I could sidehop 5" higher than normal.

I say it does feel amazing. Not at riding, but whenever you try to take off your wheel it is really easy to do, and if you transport it frequently it is great ATM I have an Echo Front hub, that is hard to install and remove, it is really tight on the whole of the fork , and if I tight the bolts, the wheel does not spin freely... I kinda miss my Hope :/
