Laurence--Trials
Thinking of treating myself to some echo SL cranks just want to shed some weight off the bike and these seem like a pretty good option. However I'd like some reviews from people who own some. Merry Christmas.
isitafox
At the galvanize event in Sheffield in March (I think) I saw a lad who weighed less than a wet blanket snap one doing a gap and he'd only got them for Christmas last year. Pretty much sums them up to me.
thinkdougie
The old ones are much better (circle holes)

*gentlydoesit
Nearly had them but got the same warning. I went for zhi sl's (same as early echo?) in the end and I'm totally impressed. Edited December 25, 2014 by *gentlydoesit

Got the same cranks myself, had them for the last 12 months or so and they've been solid
Zakd
I think trial tech sl's are superior, I had the zhi's like above atm but if I could have any it'd be the trial techs. I loved them when I used to have them.
dezmtber
It was George who broke the echo cranks, he had riden one season of tyke trial/national novice riding and quite a regular street rider during the week. But your right he only weighs about 9st or so those cranks should have lasted better
gage-mann
I bought echo sl not to long ago and I weigh the near side of 15 stone. I remember seeing the photo of the snapped crank but remember somebody saying burton had ran them fine for a while so that's why I took a chance getting a pair plus my trial-tech sl's were crap for frame and slave clearance. Can somebody find the topic with the snapped crank again as I have a suspicion that maybe the hole size is bigger maybe on the first ones and maybe has more square corners? There were two more pics here that seem to have gone. Still one pic left to look at. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/184621-please-close-me-like-a-closed-thing/ One of the pics was on a limey frame.. sure it was from a tf member Edited December 27, 2014 by *gentlydoesit
craigjames
Never heard of the zhi SL cranks can someone grab a picture? What's the weight? Got mine through Ben@Trialsaddict.com, Basically the old Echo SL cranks, I've actually had mine for nearly 2 years now and still going strong. Andrei does have the Echo SL cranks, think he's been through a few sets though and they weren't too straight after he's used them Shit photo: - Length : 160mm / 175mm - Weight : 390g / 410g Edited December 27, 2014 by craigjames

bing
Thought it was jack harmer who snapped a pair? And I'm fairly sure andrei burton killed his as well?
SamKidney
I was slated for firing up a thread of a very similar nature not long after these were released haha Look ace but I'd never want to run them, my initial thoughts have been proved time and time again now it seems Bad idea all to chase a few grams
