waybe2014
Just wondering really but I have a hope pro 2 evolution 40t hub with 40ep, is there any way to change the internals to make it 80ep?
Perez
I dont think so, only option is to change the hub body and use the rest of your hub on it.
waybe2014
Well they don't do the 80ep hub in purple that's the problem and I don't really want to rebuild a perfectly good wheel
Dman
They do Cockys got one in purple.
waybe2014
I've never seen purple as an option on the 80ep version. I'll give tarty a ring then. Just checked and tarty have them. Now just need to decide if it's worth £200 to go from 40-80ep Edited December 15, 2014 by waybe2014
Paperclip
If you have the money, it warrants doing. 100% feels amazing. Edit: you'd have to buy a pair of purple hubs or you suck. Edited December 15, 2014 by Paperclip
Luke Rainbird
There are far better ways of spending £200, but if those extra clicks mean the world to you then get involved I guess.

waybe2014
Edit: you'd have to buy a pair of purple hubs or you suck. This is why it needs to be purple. Also anyone know any good 24" purple rims if I do this

Mark W
Even black rims but lacing it with purple alloy nipples would look cool. Subtlety is the way

dezmtber
Just wondering really but I have a hope pro 2 evolution 40t hub with 40ep, is there any way to change the internals to make it 80ep? Is it just me that's a bit confused a hope 40t hub with 40ep? Are you running the hub with only 2 pawls? They have 40 teeth on the driver, and 4 pawls acting in pairs making 80ep. You need to do nothing to your hub unless its a much older hope pro 2 without 40t

You need to do nothing to your hub unless its a much older hope pro 2 without 40t The standard Hope Pro 2 Evo (non Trials/SS) is 40 EP as standard. But the OP was asking if there was anyway of converting this version to a have the 80 EP of the trials/SS version. So yes, it is only you that is confused.

Mark W
In answer to the original question, there's no way to do it properly. The free hub body is a different length which in turn means the axle and hub body are different too. You could cheat it a bit by grinding the tips of some of the pawls but that's not really ideal...
