Pashley26
Evening gentlespoons. So recently I've done more with Spotify than just searching for songs and playing them. I spend a lot of time in the gymnasium and running. Ultimate Gym Remix That is my 'ultimate gym win' playlist. And there's loads of tunes I subconsciously love on there but couldn't tell you the names of if you asked me if you liked them. And I think if other people listened to it they'd agree. So how do I go about making a spottily playlist popular? I know there's a what you're listening to thread. But that's not really the same. *gentlydoesit
You could put it in this aptly named thread http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/189463-spotify-playlists/#entry2616397

TrialsIsHard
That is not the 'ultimate gym win' playlist, far from it actually. I rate a good amount of the music you've listed, but do The Strokes motivate me to lift heavy sh*t? No. Does Florence and The Machine's gentle song about love give me any kind of energy? Not really no. Out of interest why are you trying to make your playlist 'popular'? You don't benefit from people following it at all, a small ego boost possibly. Isn't that something like saying, 'how do I get this Facebook status full of my opinions more likes?'
JD™
There isn't much that beats my 'fifty6 Fridays' playlist for play on, surprisingly, Friday's. Not meant for gym work though, obviously.
Pashley26
The musical content of that playlist works for me. But I'm not into listening to dub step, or heavy rock/metal when I'm at the gym. I'm usually the faggot you can half heartedly mumbling the words of the song they're listening to oblivious to the fact they're even making a noise haha. MadManMike
Savage drum & bass is the way forward at the gym. It needs to be loud, fast and aggressive to get you going
TrialsIsHard
I actually follow 'fifty6 Fridays', although it's not actually anything to do with Fridays.. I find it works remarkably well on Mondays (unless you're at the gym) As this has turned into a self-promotion thread, why not check out my Starred Playlist ? I find anything with a reasonable beat works in the gym, songs I know and don't focus on listening to mainly.
JD™
The only connection it has to Friday's is that it was made at a time when we used to listen to quite a lot of metal in the office during the week, and then put some more 'feel good' stuff on on Fridays. It needs some housekeeping on it now, but it does the job. Plus, I don't get to listen to as much heavy music in the office during the week now I have a team of normal people instead of people like me! TrialsIsHard
I assumed it was purely for alliteration purposes! Yeah it definitely has a feel good vibe- nothing gets the office going like Electric Six You should have a group playlist, so you can all add songs to a que during the day, that would be quite cool, like a jukebox kind of set up. Could be a tad distracting though...
JD™
I tried something similar a while ago, coded up an app where people could stick up suggestions and they'd get added to the queue unless veto'd by over 60% of the rest of the team. Massively distracting, and very demotivating for the Abba fan in the office! Now we just leave one person in control and I stick my headphones on if I need to specifically focus or can't stand the tunes.
