ginge
Thinking of buying an indoor unit and setting up a hardcore trials arena for anyone to come along and have a go on. Let me know on your thoughts and ideas and anyone want to get in on the idea then let me know

aener
I'm well up for mars think how big you could gap and sidehop in zero gravity ...I think you should read up on how gravity works
Dman
I just did and it confirmed what I thought you could jump higher than you could on earth.
aener
Yeah. Sorry, it was the "zero gravity" bit I was referring to.

*gentlydoesit
sidehop in zero gravity Is it still called a hop if you don't come back down?? Sorry, haven't been here in a while and needed a bandwagon to jump on. Back on topic.. cool idea, hope it works out Edited November 10, 2014 by *gentlydoesit

aener
No - you wouldn't. This is what I was referring to. Mars has ~0.38x Earth's gravity. Yes, you could sidehop a lot higher, and yes, you would come back down slower than on earth. If you went to the Moon, this would be even more exaggerated due the the even lower gravitation force (~0.16x Earth's). "Zero gravity" refers to exactly that. There is no force pulling you back toward whatever surface you jumped off, and you would just keep going forever. (Or until you hit something, anyway.) You would sidehop very high and come back down very slowly in very low gravity, but in zero gravity you'd just keep moving until something stopped you, like an astronaut in the ISS. (I'm not trying to be a dick - just wanted to point it out. Sorry if it came over a bit hostile.) Edit: Just re-read and realized you might have been talking about sidehopping on Mars whilst he was talking about 0G. If that's the case then feel free to ignore this post Edited November 13, 2014 by aener
Dman
No mate all good, you was right about zero gravity, I already knew that, well into space documentaries ect. I worded that post wrong that's all.
