psiron
Hi guys, its been a while since I posted something. Anyway I'm curious to know how much BMX has Influenced your riding style. I'm a fairly latecomer to trials riding and after practicing like mad for over a year, it occurred to me that something was missing I noticed that although I could get the bike up and down obstacles, I had little flow and even less pump, so I bought a cheap BMX which absolutely terrified me, anyway I persevered and now I'm riding brake-less BMX and feeling very confident on the back wheel of all the bikes I ride (170mm Enduro, Fourplay, BMX) etc.. I can pump now and my flow is improving. What's your opinion, or is there no difference, BMX isn't necessary..........
Ali C
I always watch Bmx videos (more than trials ones) and I base my riding on Bmx quite a bit. I've tried to adapt the flow, lack of hops, some tricks, lack of bitch cranks and the in written rules of spinning regular rather than goofy.
Filo
I grew up riding bike trials, my old was teaching me the required techniques for moto trials without a motor. I rode it for years then went to high school. I become really good mates with all the bmx guys. I spent the best past of 10yr riding bmx. Then injured I got back into trials. Not long after one of the best thing happened, the 4plays came out and suited me perfectly. I've been floating between trials and street riding since then. I love it, you can go session a skate park then go hit some technical natural back to back

bing
It doesn't. Never really rode BMX. Had one for a week and hated it
ZArgrave
I've probably ridden bmx more than I have trials but I like to keep it as separate as possible lol I'm as static as a static thing on my trials bike
dk2
its been 25+ years of bmx, so quite a bit....24" is great on the body compared to 20" tyres with 100psi (And no age has nothing to do with it, i think !!!)...
N.Wood
Not really as I tend to ride natural and comp style but I grew up riding street on a jump bike and like to manual where possible. I also have a background in dual slalom / jump stuff so that helps with the faster stuff.
dave33
Depending on the location im riding. I normally ride natural so not at all. But If I find myself at a skate park obiously I try to imitate bmx. Just not very well.

psiron
Some interesting reply's so far. I think BMX is definitely useful for street trials, I've never done pure trials, but I think the onus is on more static riding and maybe flow and pumping are not as important.....
