N.Wood
I think I need a boat. For about £3000, Whats the best bang for my buck? 3 - 5m rib? Dory type open deck sucker or a tin hull? Want to use it primarily for fishing and dicking about. Thanks!

AdamR28
My spidey senses tell me you want one that doesn't have holes in the bottom. You're welcome!

bing
My old man had just sold his, 20ft river/canal cruiser with a 20hp 4 stroke Honda engine on. He did fishing and stuff out of it. It's not the boat that's the pricey bit, it's the marina/mooring fees and the yearly few to the waterways board. That was about £2k on it's own in goole marina where he had it moored up

Luckily I live within trailering distance of a few ramps and have a place to store it, also being on the sea no waterways to pay. I will have to pay launching fees and stuff but thats no problem. I also have access to a couple of moorings on the Dart if neccesary.
bing
Sailing on the sea is full of regulations and stuff you have to pass and be competent. It's not as simple as buying a boat and going sailing hsha

Prawny Baby
Sailing on the sea is full of regulations and stuff you have to pass and be competent. erm, no, it isn't. Any moron with enough money can buy a boat and sail off into the distance 100% legally. That's why, statistically, sailing is such a dangerous sport. bing
Umm... It is. http://www.sailingandboating.co.uk/gettingsailinglicence.html I stand corrected then haha. Buy a boat, try not to sink it. Simples
Tom Booth
I couldn't decide between 'Boats n Hoes' or 'I'm on a boat!'. I went with neither in the end but wish you all the best in your purchase.
