Clerictgm mk2
Don't know what's wrong with my BB7. I've set it up ideally by the manual. My setup is BB7 with standard pads + echo TR 180 rotors + FR5 levers + odyssey linear cables. And brake works like SНIT! It slips at up-to-fronts and gaps to rear plus there are almost no bite. I don't know WТF is wrong with this brakes. Echo rotors are so ugly or what?

Clerictgm mk2
Contamination of what kind? Nothing oily never ever was close to my brakes because I know how fatal it is for rotor and pads. Clerictgm mk2
'Wrong' rotor - too many holes. But isn't many holes means good bite? And what rotor you'd recommend for Hope M4, Adam?
AdamR28
To a point. The correct Hope one.
LEON
Rotors with too many holes are crap, there's virtually no contact area. The avid roundagon ones are good.
Clerictgm mk2
Yeeep. I have had one with bb5, awesomest front brake I've ever had.W Hope saw 203 are good for M4?
laurent
Riding BB7 for a long time now, i find that Avid G2 rotor very good, if not the best. Check i you have organic pads, it helps too. About the holes, i'm trying this (http://www.kcncbike.com/products.php?product=2011-Disc-brake-rotor%252dRazor), it is a lot lighter than G2 and the loss of power is very very small. But indeed somes rotors don't work well with it. Maybe Echo is one of them. Bedding in in important too, put water on the caliper and the disk helps. SamKidney
G2 Cleensweep rotors are best with BB series Avids Ive found.
LEON
I had the G2 and Roundagon rotors on my Saints for a bit & they were really good. Roundagon has sod all holes in it, nice power is nice.
laurent
Roundagon gives less locking power than the G2 with BB7
LEON
The surface looks wider on a G2, not that I ever measured it, but it could be that.
