Clerictgm mk2
I, personally prefer my bars to be vertical (perpendicular to the ground) and maybe a little back(1-3 deg) sometimes.
Ali C
back, so the vertical part of the bar is inline with the headtube
ericbenjaminjr
I just recently turned my bars forward (TGS) to test it out and found a new stability on the back wheel I never knew. I found my posture to be straighter and consumed less energy. I also find getting my weight over the front wheel is allot easer. But my bunny hops take much more energy in this position and I cant lower the front wheel as far before drops or gaps.
ItsMatt
Bars inline with the stem is tgs fashion, pointing downwards/ forwards I would call UCI
jack dickinson
depends what stem i run. if i use a 150 x 30 i run my bars horizontal otherwise i find it to high, i i struggle because its impossible to even pull up into a manual. so now i run a 127 x 30 stem and run my bars inline with the stem, and is the same height as before just i can now switch my 't front' move and pull the front wheel up without the need to peddle. Clerictgm mk2
back, so the vertical part of the bar is inline with the headtube Like that? Is it still good for trials moves on back wheel? Also what stem are you use? 70x35? Edited August 24, 2014 by Clerictgm mk2
Ali C
exactly like that. Yes it's still good for trials, lets be honest with chainstays as short as they are bikes aren't exactly hard to backhop are they?
Clerictgm mk2
exactly like that. Yes it's still good for trials, lets be honest with chainstays as short as they are bikes aren't exactly hard to backhop are they? Hmm.. I'll try that angle tomorrow. What about stem? I tried some 70x35 but it feels pretty hard for backwheel trials, I just need to get used to it of what? I'm afraid I will not be able to sidehop/pedalkick as high/far as with 90x35. Ali C
yeah I use a 70x35 but the arcade has a long reach so its roughly the same feel as a fourplay with a 90x35 stem.
TK92
Ali, how many spacers are u running under ur stem?
Ali C
think I'm on 30 or 35mm of spacers, but my stem steerer clamp is quite tall, if I was to run a Hope stem which is shorter I'd be closer to 40mm of spacers This is how it looks
TK92
Nice!
Clerictgm mk2
Nice! Lol. Don't try to copy top riders setups. This is stupid, you just need what you find more comfortable.
Mark W
Hmm.. I'll try that angle tomorrow. Don't try to copy top riders setups. This is stupid... Right.
Clerictgm mk2
Right. Yes, it's stupid, but trying something new isn't bad. I hated this parallel setup, I just can't ride. Also I don't like 70x35 stem because it's too short and bike feels like a tabouret. So vertical set bars and 90x35 with 46mm of stackers is the comfiest setup I ever tried. Mark W
I was more pointing out that you were calling him stupid for doing the exact same thing you were doing/have done in the past from your topics on here.

monkeyseemonkeydo
So vertical set bars and 90x35 with 46mm of stackers is the comfiest setup I ever tried. Have you tried 46.5mm of spacers? That really is full of awesome.
Clerictgm mk2
Hah, but it's 46, not 45. (echo al spacers for some reason are 6mm) Problem? I tried and find this stupid.
aener
They look nicer parallel with the headtube, but ride nicer perpendicular to the floor on my mod.
