Clerictgm mk2
Bars are OK, a little short but OK. But WHY they made this silly stem? This stem is ridiculous. 80x8. What? +Crazy short steerer tube I would not take this bike even for free because It's unrideable. Same thing about styl with short steerer tube. But this also have a silly stem. With this stem you'll get your bars 37mm lower than with 90x35. Crazy long reach and crazy low, why, why, why-y-y-y-y? Vivian-Trial
A lot of street bikes like DMRs, NS etc etc they have the short stem set up. Maybe it's a new test of geometry for this style of bike to run that stem. Development of street trials ? How about e-mail Bruno and question him on this? Clerictgm mk2
How about e-mail Bruno and question him on this? I'll do that, because I really don't get it. 66mm lower than my setup! This is kinda XC setup lol. I'll 100% get a kyphosis after few rides on this bike. Ross McArthur
Maybe it compliments the geometry of the bike.
Matt24.
I would probably reserve judgement until you understand what impact designer / engineer was going for when they created this design. I would also note they look like relative high rise bars which may complement the design as above. I would also consider taking it for free (if it was offered, not that I am of course expecting you have been offered this opportunity) as a stem is a relatively inexpensive component to change. James281098
I use to run a truvative 80x7 and it was probably the nicest stem I have used, but it's now on my road bike haha

LEON
Back on the old Norcos, Zeros and Zebdis 10-12 years ago I always used an 80 x 10 stem, sometimes 90x10, if the bb ain't high you don't need the bars at chin height like a lot of people seem to think. A stem with a little bit of rise would definitely look better though, seems weird to have huge bars and a flat stem instead of spreading the rise out between both. Clerictgm mk2
6ft Hmmmm.. maybe hands length also affects. I'm 6.1ft but I can't ride anything lower than high rise bars with totally uncutted steerer tube and 70x35 and higher stem. And even 70x35 feels short for me, only with TT HR, only with Arcade bars it feels good. Edited August 12, 2014 by Clerictgm mk2

Soooort of, but also people are riding quite a bit differently now to how people rode back then so preferring a different front end height isn't too surprising. With Ozonys also deciding to use FFW, 28h front wheels, mis-matching tyres and all that kind of thing, it's kind of more time-efficient to not really question the way they spec their bikes and just accept them as they are
