It's just a matter of time now. Freeflow aren't offering finance until the 8th August and I don't get a juicy enough pay check to buy outright until mid September.

I sold my bike one day to late to buy dave trials hex at an awesome price for an in between ride... And like you guys have said, chance of an arcade coming up second hand are really low and if expect to pay £1200 probably even second hand at this stage!

The thing is, the price is the price it is because of the cost of building the bike up, and that'll be affected by the quantities of parts bought to build it. The more you buy of a part typically the cheaper it is, so if you have a complete batch of bikes built with the same spec they'll be cheaper. Equally, the wheels are pre-built before they leave Inspired to dealers so it wouldn't really be possible to change anything like hubs and rims without drastically affecting the price of the bike overall.

TartyBikes don't do finance for parts/bikes they sell, but I know they're pretty busy at the moment so I'd imagine they'll let you know via e-mail soon.

I did have a hop on for literally 10 or 20 seconds but I didn't absorb much info. Part of me thinks just go for it and you'll get used to it. Because I've had literally 2 years of not even riding a bike, I'll likely be re-learning everything anyways...

In other news... I found a king of dunce V3 pro light brand new for 1350 which I believe is about £1100... Since I'm only just starting back, could this be a better deal for me? Will be an import of course...

Also, I can't believe that free flow will do 15% of rrp either. I think if tarty could do say 10% I'd pay more to get it from tarty due to rep and previous order history / positive feedback / experience. But for 15% which will be damn near £300 in this case I simply have to give free flow a whirl if I go for the arcade. 6 days countdown to the interest free finance decision...

The Ozonys look quite nice, but for that sort of money you should ask yourself if its worth just spending that little bit more on a Console.

Personally I think the Console is a much better set-up especially if you are getting back into trials. It's also a far far far better geo and would be one of those bikes you could happily add to the better you get without breaking the bank of having to buy another bike.

They still seem to approach them from a trials perspective (e.g. front freewheel, narrower front 28h rims, etc.), so I suppose they're doing it to save a bit of weight up front. The last time I looked at their complete bikes they came with a much narrower front tyre than rear tyre, so I suppose having them roughly the same width now is progress of sorts...

The finance company take a %age of the order value, so the retailer would lose money by doing it. Similarly, it's a lot more hassle than taking some card details and instantly getting £____ paid into the company account.

The thing is, with Freeflow they'll just be printing out a shipping label then sticking it on the box which means they're essentially making whatever % it would be just for printing a sheet of paper out - they don't even have the risk of having to keep bikes in stock as they just order them in once a customer's ordered one with them - so consequently they can afford to slice more off the RRP as they're not really investing (for want of a better word) much into anything. Trials margins tend to not be amazing too, so I'm sure the better margins they'll have on the rest of their MTB/road/whatever range will allow them to overall not really lose out much - a luxury that a trials shop wouldn't really have. Because TartyBikes will be spending time setting the bike up and adding in freebies (as well as providing pre- and after-sales care, although obviously that doesn't really cost anything) it doesn't really give the same wiggle room to just chop bikes out for a greatly reduced price. Freeflow's "thing" is that they're cheap, TartyBikes "thing" is that they're good.

Haha, good call. I guess if you prefer a lower quoted overall weight for when you're talking about your bike than stiffness and stability for when you're riding your bike, a single wall, 28h, half radially laced front wheel is also a fantastic option.
