bikeperson45
It's hot today where I am as it has been the past few weeks and I've started to think wearing a dress would be much more ideal then the shirts and trousers I've been wearing. Curious as to whether other people would like to wear a dress and feel comforting breezes amongst your limbs or if 'society' has made us all to scared for the repercussions. Votes are private, so be honest with yourself here. Dresses and/or shirts here, no restrictions
Clownbike
Strangely enough i posed this question to my girlfriend when we were in Columbia a few weeks ago. She confirmed that its much more comfortable wearing a skirt in hot weather, as you get a bit of a breeze and you don't feel as sticky. Personally i don't understand why a woman can wear trousers or a skirt and society accepts it, but a man can't. Unfortunately i won't be the first person in the queue at Primark buying a skirt, but i admire the man who would.

HippY
for me, a pair of baggy shorts are just enough, and I would hate to not have pockets, or I would need to wear something like a fannypurse ... Which would be sexy
Jamie_Trials
They can anyway, if people start doing something everyone eventually follows anyway. I'd look and think "oh aye up a cross dresser ere", but if everyone did it I'd think nothing of it. At the same time, if any women want to have their chest out while the weathers hot that's also fine by me Edited July 28, 2014 by Jamie_Trials

Tony Harrison
I live in Thailand so it's perfectly acceptable. Switching it round the other way, I saw this really attractive girl on the train - and I'm pretty sure it was a bona fide woman - but the amount of hair on her legs and arms was out of this world. I'm talking a petite girl with nice hair and makeup, but a monstrous forest of dark bodily hair. Or maybe she's seen all those lame feminist meme posts going around about women being entitled to not shave if they don't want to...
Greetings
Wouldn't wear it, wouldn't condemn others for wearing it - at least not to the point I'd actually point a finger at someone. I would find it rather weird although that all depends on how the male version of the dress would look and whether it would differ considerably in appearance to the female version we know. Say something sleek and simple colours, not figure hugging but not so loose that it's entirely left to the imagination. I'm wearing one right now. Pictures would help so that we can see if this will really work
manuel
I don't get it, you can now? If you turned up to your office in a dress similar to a female member of staff I doubt there would be anything anyone could do about it.
J.KYDD
What's wrong with a pair of light shorts? Remember women don't have testicles and a penis to worry about flashing every time they sit down. Terrible idea. Wound't wear one

If you turned up to your office in a dress similar to a female member of staff I doubt there would be anything anyone could do about it. They probably couldn't do anything about it, I mean more so a world where men where dresses in a way that's more socially acceptable and there's no drag stigma to it. Everyone would see it as fabric rather than a gender image. What's wrong with a pair of light shorts? Remember women don't have testicles and a penis to worry about flashing every time they sit down. Terrible idea. Wound't wear one I also can't really wear shorts in a lot of jobs without that being against the dress code. And women worry about flashing just as much as men would presumably, they too have genitals to display.

dngr2self
The questions a bit stupid in my opinion. Why would anyone care enough to think "yeah that would be great?" Who cares what other people wear wether its dresses; trousers, shorts, skirts or whatever?

The questions a bit stupid in my opinion. Why would anyone care enough to think "yeah that would be great?" Who cares what other people wear wether its dresses; trousers, shorts, skirts or whatever? Well clearly I care enough to think it'd be great, just think of all the unrestricted leg movement. And I can think of a lot of people that care, extreme example being the kind of people that picket funerals. Arcade Fire had a video recently for the song We Exist where Andrew Garfield was dressed in drag and you just have to look in the comments to see how many people object to a man wearing clothes intended for women. You might not care as such but I'd bet if you saw a man walking down the street in a skirt you'd care enough to form an opinion pretty quickly. bikeperson45
why do you bet that? A bloke in a dress or skirt isn't a deal. And besides, we do live in a world can wear a dress. I'm pretty surprised you would question that bet. I just know that if I or any other male walked into their place of work or school or public wearing a dress or a skirt it wouldn't be considered normal, people would undoubtedly question why a man is wearing woman that is generally only worn by woman. It might be gay or funny but probably not thought of as being a practical solution for heat and comfort issues because of how closely items of clothing are linked to gender. I know a man can physically put on a dress and wear it, but I meant without any stigma attached to it, so to live in a place where a man could walk past you wearing a dress and you would have no more of a reaction than if he were wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Of course I would question that bet. I know myself and how I would react therefore I'm well placed to question it. Why do you worry so much about what other people think? It almost sounds to me like you have a problem with but wish you didn't. The fact that you care means its an issue. If its an issue then it's down to you being closed minded more than what other people would say. You can blame other peoples reactions all you like but if you were as liberal as you'd like to be then you would do it if you wanted to. You can blame other peoples reactions all you like but if you were as liberal as you'd like to be then you would do it if you wanted to. I kind of meant a more figurative 'you' rather then just you as a specific individual, should have made that more clear. I'm not so much worried about what other people think but just find it funny that we've been brought up to think like we do. If you could honestly have a man come in and sit down next to you wearing a dress and think nothing of it then fair enough, I just find that very hard to believe unless you were raised in a drastically different culture. It wasn't meant as an attack on you saying you were close minded, that's just what I think the vast majority of people would think. And wouldn't think of myself as a liberal, a conservative person can question something without having to change their beliefs. I don't really care enough for it to be a personal issue, although my sweaty legs restricted by trousers would disagree
HippY
I would say that the first step would be to design a dress/skirt for man a flowery pink dress might not tickle every man fantasy, but like a manlier one.
