HippY
Hey guys I have an echo caliper and it had an mt2 lever and the bleed was not successful... So i need a new lever I found a hope tech 2 lever for a good price Are they good for trials use? What bleeding kit i need for them? Do they accept the hosr with the maggie end? Do they use mineral oil?
isitafox
Won't work, lever uses dot fluid and caliper uses mineral oil.
HippY
What lever use mineral oil then? Quick google :shimano What lever would suit my need, something like slx?
isitafox
Any Shimano lever but be careful, I've found the Echo calipers to flex with too powerful a lever paired to them.
Paperclip
I would suggest a shimano m395 lever I have these on my XC bike and they feel really nice. EDIT: You can buy a pair of these brakes on Ebay for less than £50 posted. You would have to also buy 2 pairs of organic pads however these might be worth your while. niconj
Just get this brake and be happy. Once bedded in it's pretty powerful, better than Echo anyways.

HippY
Just get this brake and be happy. Once bedded in it's pretty powerful, better than Echo anyways. I have them and they are not bad they are in consideration At the moment I run a BB7 front, and apart from the fact that I cannot set up disc brakes properly ( ), It is a good solution I have an echo caliper, and the reason why I would like to use it is the jitsie pad, I heard very good things about that, and this happens to take it. So all the fuss is to have a brake with Jitsie pad on the cheap
Greetings
A properly set up BB5/BB7 (not sure about the new 7's) paired to an SD lever are among the most powerful disc brakes you can run on your bike. I very much doubt that an Echo caliper paired to lever which might displace an incorrect amount of fluid with the wrong force can do better, even when run on supposedly good brake pads.
