Thebigjam101
I can build wheels, but I have these two wheels, one has the hub I want, the other has the rim. So obviously in going to swap them over- the flanges are different sizes in the wheel with the rim I want, the hub I want has the same size flanges, so I'm using the spokes from the hub I want. But the rim on the wheel with the hub I want is a single wall, undrilled rim. The rim I want on the other wheel is dual walled, drilled rim. Will this make a difference to spoke lengths? trials hoe
Measure the erd of the rim you want to use, if it's the same as the one you're replacing happy days! If not a spoke calculator with the right numbers typed in will tell you the right length of spoke you need
Thebigjam101
Best calculatorhttp://sapim.be/spoke-calculator that is one intense calculator. I thought it might aha. Might get lucky. I'll go see what happens. I've got some tryall snailcams I put in the free cycle thread by the way, postage free of charge if anyone's interested, they're gathering dust
J.KYDD
that is one intense calculator. It's really not. It's the only one where you don't have to try measuring the rim ERD. In our experience - it also gives the most accurate results
Thebigjam101
It looks intense, yet simple to use is what I meant. Professional. It's really not. dezmtber
so are the hubs the same but the rims are single for one and double for the other? what hubs are they and which rims?
Thebigjam101
so are the hubs the same but the rims are single for one and double for the other? what hubs are they and which rims? no, both the hubs and rims are different. Ones a tryall "h" disc which is broken, the other an onza. The tryall had different spoke flange sizes. The onza flanges are the same size. The rim on the onza is single wall, the rim on the tryall is double wall. I want the double wall on the onza hub
dezmtber
If the onza wheel is using long nipples you could possibly use short nipples and fit the double wall rim, just a guess thou, you would always be better measuring up
Thebigjam101
Yeah I'll measure it up, may be using a cruddy single walled rim until I can get spokes. Been without a drivetrain for a month now. I might get lucky, you never knowIf the onza wheel is using long nipples you could possibly use short nipples and fit the double wall rim, just a guess thou, you would always be better measuring up
isitafox
Ring Tarty, tell them what hub and rim and they'll sort you out the spokes. Simple.

Simple. oh I probably made that unclear, I know they'll sort out spokes but I can't afford them, I got this wheel for free. craigjames
It's pretty unlikely that the Onza hub will work with either rim with the spokes you have.
Thebigjam101
It's already attached to a rim, so im is on that until I can get new spokes. It's pretty unlikely that the Onza hub will work with either rim with the spokes you have.
