Problem with magura

Hi guys! I have a magura raceline 2000/2002 (unsure) water bled, and I have to re bleed it every ten minutes because water comes out of the bleed screw on the lever body. I've tried rubber o-rings, washers, plastic o-rings and water still manages to escape. I'm thinkng the only solution is some form of glue? Help would be appreciated.

This tape is used by plumbers, so when they want to join 2 tubes with threads, they put this tape on it so it will be 100% sealed

Just let you know what is is really :D

thanks :) I got the general gist, will give it a go when I can be bothered to leave my bed and re bleed the brake for the umpteenth time. D:

Similar to thread lock. Ptfe should work fine, if not you can buy hydraulic sealant but if it got to that stage is probably scrap the body.

Is the seat that the bleed screw locks against intact?

Edit: that's a race line d, so seals on the blackface of the Allen bolt. A dowty washer would be best , or a small copper washer . Check the sealing faces for scratches.

*update* put the ptfe tape on. It worked a treat! Did it on

The space cylinder bleed screw too just in case. However, with a decent water bleed, It worked great for the first 3 hours of riding, left it for about 2, and suddenly my pistons are really lazy? They still move out the correct distance but take an age to return, so my levers useless for a good 3 seconds before I get pressure back. Should I have bled it with antifreeze mixed in? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Is the lever returning perfectly? Snappy style

no, doesn't return for about 3 seconds, then it becomes solid.

Needs bleeding again.

I don't understand, I gave to a perfect bleed at lunchtime, no air can get In, how is it managing this? It was fine for 3 hours then I left it for about 2....
