This deserves to be in the Trials video thread but would probably get a lot of hate using an ebike. The camera work doesn't do any justice on the scale of what Akrigg is riding and how the ebike is helping.

Pretty sure Akrigg could do this stuff on a manual bike set up.....apart from the really steep climbing stuff

But the stuff Raga and Tony can do on a "gas bike" is even better than what Akkers can do on an e-bike...

I'm playing devils advocate and partially kidding, but also not. (warning my own rant here) I'm so bored with videos of people doing things on the "wrong" bike. I'd rather see Akrigg back on a cross bike than an e-bike, I don't ever want to see an enduro bike trials video again, or a road bike one. Even watching street bikes ride rocks is meh at best. We have the right tools (and riders for the job) I'd rather see the best do the best than just more content that is mediocre. To me it goes back to how mountain bikes have redone every trick bmx has ever done and they hype it up as "worlds first" like it was the best thing ever, when some kid with no helmet and pads did it on a 35 pound steel bike with little wheels and no brakes a decade ago. Using the wrong bike isn't pushing the limits. It might be pushing a boundary, but its a dumb one.

Ok I'm done now, I still think Akrigg is a favorite rider and that tire slide on the rock around the tree was awesome and really could be done on a pedal bike just the same.

I agree. Trials on road bikes for example - OK, it's very impressive that you can do trials moves on a bike that's horrible to ride, but it doesn't look smooth and doesn't make an enjoyable video imo.

I respect the skills, but a big part of decent videos is the riders style and flow, which is almost impossible on a bike that's not suited for the job.

As an occasional novelty, and leaning into the nuances of the bike, I quite like videos on "other" bikes, but as far as actual trials vids go I prefer trials bikes. That said, I'd rather have an Akrigg vid on an eeb than no Akrigg vid at all!
