Freethoughtpolice
Hi folks newby here. 40odd wannabe just got himself an onza bird. What sort of pressure should I be running the rear tyre for learning rear hopping, or doesn't it matter too much? Cheers
isitafox
Doesn't matter too much, as long as it's firm enough that the tyre doesn't balloon over too much and doesn't bottom out you should be fine. Best bet is to pump it up till it's quite firm then slowly let a bit out at a time until you feel comfortable.

AlexClare94
Hi folks newby here. 40odd wannabe just got himself an onza bird. What sort of pressure should I be running the rear tyre for learning rear hopping, or doesn't it matter too much? Cheers Doesn't matter too much but I always found that having the rear tyre slightly less pressured to the front tyre e.g 20psi for the front and about 18psi for the rear.. I like my tyres to bounce a little when on the back wheel but not so that it would detach from the rim haha.. To be honest it depends on how much you weigh, I'm 6ft4 and weigh about 13/14st 90 odd kg and I have my tires started at 20psi and let air out if need be
Freethoughtpolice
Thanks dude, tried letting a bit out and it did feel easier to bounce, got up to eight so on the verge of cracking it I feel. I'm about 15.9st
dezmtber
My mate rides a 20" and weighs about the same he normaly runs just over 25psi to keep back the punctures. if your leaning i would say around 20-25 psi
