*gentlydoesit
So, was wondering if this has ever happed to anyone else and if so what happed soo many times over the years I've had stuff like that happen a few of my faves were when some guy cut me up in his car, got out and demanded I put my bike in the boot of his car. ( in the middle of rush hour traffic in mosley village ) I put my bike in his boot alright, I just didn't wait for him to open it!! And I had one where three lads tried to knock me off as I was going down a hill (I managed to stay on luckily)they were shouting "gimme yer bike" long story short I knew one of them so when I saw him alone I put my bike down in fromt of him and said take it, he ran off... and came back with the biggest gang you could imagine!! Like 20 strong, in a matter of minutes.

dngr2self
I caught someone on mine 6 months after it was stolen. He gave it back but I didn't hit him or anything as I don't think he was the one that took it. I got in trouble for hitting the kid that I suspected of taking it. Scott Gibbs
I had a guy trying to nick my bike while it was locked up! I shouted some profanities at him, he dropped his wire cutters and legged it so I picked them up and hurled them at him.

MadManMike
Never leave a bike outside a shop. Never leave a good bike locked up.
dann2707
If you most definitely do have to leave your bike outside a shop and there is no other way, wind your tpa fully on so your brake is completely locked up so the twat can't cycle off. And turn your bike upside down as even though it's like 3 seconds to turn it over, those 3 seconds could mean them getting a lead on you or not...
jack dickinson
wind your tpa fully on so your brake is completely locked up so the twat can't cycle off. this is the most genius thing ive ever read, why haven't i thought of this?

Ben Cox
doesn't work if you discs though That's because your discs are broken, I personally would blame whoever you bought them from and start a poorly concocted dispute thread asking for your money back.... Maybe quote some completely irrelevant laws whilst you're at it?
Ross McArthur
I can remember years ago, if I was doing my paper round and I had to leave my bike anywhere, I would click the gears a few times on both sides, so if anyone tried to cycle away the gears would crunch and I'd either hear that or it would make it harder to get away. That or take the chain off at the front.
