LEON
Can anyone make adjustments to a steel fork? I have a fork that's too long for my liking & I'd like the dropouts & disc mount both slid up the legs about 10mm - 12mm. Obviously you'll know that these things all need to line up pretty much perfectly, ideally you'd have a caliper & a wheel to make sure it's all good, or a jig. Anyone know anyone? Not looking to spend a lot as they're not worth a fortune, but I don't want a messy job done either.
*gentlydoesit
It'll be a mess by vertue of removing the paint. Its doable but I'd guess they're tempered?? if they are the weld area will be annealed, would you risk it on a brake mount? Is the steerer tube one piece? LEON
They're heat treated 4130 cro-mo, Steerer....I wouldn't know but I'm guessing it's 1 piece, I know the paint will be a write off, that's not important. I'm no welder so I don't know what's realistic, any advice welcome, cheers.
