Help rolling up obstacles

Spent a few hours practicing today and although i can now get up a 20" step i just can't seem to do it smoothly. my back wheel crashes into whatever im trying to get up befor i can try to lift it.

Any advice would be great:)

Cheers, when you say almost bunnyhop should i still be trying to lift the front with a half pedal stroke or just with my arms?

Whats wrong with my flats? really don't think that bike is worth spending money on lol
