ALI_GH
im confused inspired element 2013 had a rear V brake but 2014 has disk brake why they changed it to disk ? while V is cheaper , stronger and lighter and the frame became more expensive and heavier too because of the rear disk brake Edited May 24, 2014 by ALI_GH
Kevinfor
I think a disk makes it easier to feather the rear brake while doing a manual
onzatpro09
If you want a rim brake, buy the element frame on its own. It comes with a magura mount, then just chuck some mag-v adaptors on. Alternatively, you could buy the flow instead.

PatJsy
I know very little about brakes but if you look at the high end inspireds they all have rear discs. Sticking disc mounts on the element just made it easier to upgrade parts on the bike I guess.
Blake
All the street riders like them because you can use them at a high speed and it doesn't sound like a dying cat, so they can all cheat on their manuals. and they feather a lot better
JakubW
also are cheaper to run (pads wear out less easier and don't leak as much)

JDâ„¢
Rear discs make it look more like a motorbike, which is obviously the main reason.
dngr2self
also are cheaper to run (pads wear out less easier and don't leak as much)Funny you should mention that, my v used to leak all the time. As a result I wore a lot of pads. In the end I stopped listening to the music of Justin Bieber and it cleared up. dezmtber
Try a bike fitted with hope trials or saints. On the rear and then try saying a vee is better without smiling

Thebigjam101
The element actually has bb5s I asked the guy at tartydays, same idea but a smaller adjuster to stop the problem of clipping the caliper on a sidehop. vees can be good, but they take fannying around with, a bb7 will just work out the box...
