Scott Gibbs
Looking for advice for rawing aluminium parts, especially bigger items like frames and rims and also the best way to get a nice finish to parts if they've had the anodizing/powdercoat sanded off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Dazza1414
If you can get hold of pure caustic chemical it makes short work of anodizing. Lucky for me we use it at work.
Scott Gibbs
Ok I'll look into that. Cheers

Jake.
Nitro mors? That doesn't work on anodized paint, caustic soda does.

Scott Gibbs
How do you use it? Do you just put it into a container and let it soak?

Jake.
Caustic on frames, either have a very big tank or wipe it on with a cloth
*gentlydoesit
Borrowing a sandblaster from my mate tomorrow.careful what media you use (and the pressure). I'd recomend glass bead, some others can degrade the surface causing stress risers or build up excess heat Edited May 19, 2014 by *gentlydoesit
Scott Gibbs
Just normal sand! That's all he's got.

Jake.
800 hours of intermediate-level riding. I somehow call bullshit on that one, I've read up that you need at least 1000 hours to become an expert level in most sports.

I've been riding other bikes before the Rockman, you know.

stirlingpowers
My Rockman has endured 800 hours of my intermediate-level riding by now, no kidding. But I don't wedge the bike very often, and I am lightweight. I have been doing trials for about 3000 hours (give or take 500) in my life, I reckon. Perhaps I just got a really well-built outlier... My old Slate 3 stock lasted over a year of regular riding and comps. No dents or cracks - sold it on
