Slow motion thinking

Just curious about this. I haven't ridden in quite a while but was jumping over a rope the other day and my foot snagged it. In the second I started tripping on it, I thought 'uh, this rope's not moving, better pull in it' so reached and yanked at it while still in mid air and it got caught so I though 'dammit' before I landed on the ground.

Point is, I remember when I was falling off on my bike I was always amazed at how my thought I was capable of in the second it would take to hit the ground. I've asked a few people about this and some people say they get it and some say they pretty much become dead weight.

Not really a question, just curious...

If there is going to be pain/ injury involved, the pain bit of your brain releases adrenaline, or whatever sciency chemical it is. When there is no "adrenaline rush" the body only uses about 20% of it's full muscle capacity. With adrenaline, this jumps up to about 40% I believe. That includes eye movement, response time etc. That can sometimes be the reason things seem slower.

On another note, when you get a high power shock and get sent flying, that's no the electricity doing that, it's because the shock makes every muscle tense to 80%-100% power and the flying is literally your legs propelling you. Basically we all have the ability to be superman but the damage done to our muscles means we would live a lot less longer.
