persistant_itch
Thinking of buying them for my fourplay, giving the bike a bit of an overhaul and spruce up, and gonna be running a 110 x mid rise stem, with 30mm of stackers. (I was struggling for space on the real wheel, hence the 110 stem). What's the thoughts on the bars with the stem?
LEON
I'm not a fan of high bars on long stems, looks crap & doesn't feel right. Those are my thoughts.
persistant_itch
A very valid point, my hope is to test the bars with the long stem, and with the existing stem (90 x 35) and see what looks nicest and rides nicest for me.
LEON
Try different stacker/stem height too, a Fourplay doesn't need a massive front end unless you're 6ft 4". Tactics are big, so you'll need less height from the stem/spacers.
persistant_itch
yeah I tried less spacers, and I found that too hard to lift. I guess once I get it, I can test combos of bar/stem and height etc.
Christiaan
Just bought an Arcade riser for my fourplay. Rides so nice! No need for a longer stem.
persistant_itch
They're seriously expensive though, and I think the tactics are a similar geo. I just can't afford the arcade risers
Christiaan
That's true. Geo is a bit different though. Arcade bars have more backsweep and less upsweep than the tactic bars. Anyway I feel like high bars give me much more control than the inspired bar I had before.
persistant_itch
Yeah I knew there was a slightly different geo alright, how much of a difference do you think it'd make?
Ali C
I had Tactic bars before I got my Arcade bars and I bent them in a few months.....just sayin.
persistant_itch
Don't think I'd ever be going as big as you man, but thats fairly worrying. Could be plumping for the arcades then, cos there's very few other 31.8 bars that big.
Ross McArthur
As you say, you wont be going as big as Ali. I use the tactics and get on with them just fine.
ben_travis
I used the da bombs for over 6 months with no problems. Highly rate my arcade riser bars too though I guess you have to work with your budget and see what's best for you
isitafox
Must admit I like my tactics

old boy chez
Love them, best bars I have ever had.
persistant_itch
I've had them a month or so now and they are amazing. Much better than the standard inspired bars. I'm using a 90 x 35 at the minute with it but I'll be changing to either a 90 with less rise or a 70 x 35. But at the minute I love the bars. Helped me progress big time.
