dk2
Hi just wanted to know if anybody runs a gyro on their rearbrake on a streettrial play-things? Thinking either bb7 with bmx cable gyro, or a hydraulic one (think there is one called "trix") ? just wondering about hold, modulatiry and durability... thanks /stefan
Blake
None of the streety frames have the tabs for them, so don't think anyone does run them.

*gentlydoesit
I used to hate them on a bmx. I never spun more than twice so I just used a long cable.
Blake
Yeah, also I don't see the point in them, just run a longer cable. Such a hassle keeping a gyro running well.
dezmtber
A good long cable/hose will give you 3-5 turns of the bar. Unless your some kind of barspin or tailwhip genius you wont need a gyro.
N.Wood
Would also make a BB7 feel like absolute shit.
PatJsy
You can set one up without the tabs on your frame but even the best ones I've seen in BMX felt like sh*t compared to a straight cable. Gyros make sense in park riding where your average run can consist of 5+ tailwhips or barspins but in street riding there's just no need for it - especially street trials. Besides, you know it's a bad idea if the French haven't tried it yet...
ogre
rear bb7 felt spongy with a long cable, adding a splitter will make it even worse
*gentlydoesit
I had somthing like 1.5 meters of nokon on my bmx, zero sponginess

Ive heard they leak, just never found a person who has actually ridden them. i run a bb7 with cable gyro on my DJ feels okay...But not as great as hydraulic. ps. taps can be mountes with a 3,3mm drill and a 4mm tap, done it to a few frames now... J.KYDD
Know a couple of dirt jump riders who've tried them. the Trickstuff one was the better, but still leaked
Scott Gibbs
A gyro works better with a rear V-brake, not perfect but deffo better than a rear disc
