dezmtber
A disc hose will fit if you use say hope or goodridge kits, but i don't know if the hose material for dot fluid works with mineral oil though i cant see why not.
jack dickinson
no, you need proper magura stuff because it is not a standard size, so if you are using the incorrect hose it will make your bake feel rubish
*gentlydoesit
Internal sizes are differnt then? I thought they may be

*gentlydoesit
Ahh... ebay generic coloured disk brake hose on echo rim brakes, all barbs, no shrouds. Thought all the disk hoses would be the same? Edited April 24, 2014 by *gentlydoesit
isitafox
Using barbed fittings would be fine as there's no worries about leaks though the bore size of the hose will affect how good the brake is. I was going to get some of the Unex braided hose for mine years ago but was put off it as I got told it was smaller than standard magura hose which means the fluid can't travel through as quickly and so it makes the brakes feel sluggish. *gentlydoesit
Expected that would be the case, cheers.
Willeyeam
I have a friend who bought a generic disc hose from a lbs for his magura. Despite repeated bleeding it feels terrible and has barely any power.

AdamR28
No really, they didn't If you're trying to use barbed fittings with hose made for disc brakes, it won't work (safely). If you are buying all the relevant fittings to attach said hose to the brake properly then it will work, but be expensive and the brake will feel sluggish. If you desperately want coloured hoses, Google heatshrink.

Buzzbox
My local bike shop fitted my HS33 with a disk hose recently. I've had nothing but problems with it, It just gulps in air from nowhere! I'd stick with standard hoses if i were you.
James281098
If you just want to change the colour, buy some insulation coloured tape and get a long trip and put it over the cable, it looks the same as a coloured cable if you do it right
