niconj
Just cut the crown race with a hacksaw like many other manufacturers do (+ file the sharp edges). Has always worked for me (and many others I know). No need for a hammer or anything like this. Edited April 23, 2014 by niconj

HippY
I literally had to hit my crown race so hard I thought I was gonna break the forks. Man up, hit it harderrrrr I was hitting it and now there is less then a 1mm gap between the crown race and the bottom of the fork. Now my plan is to ride it hard, as I did some quick bunny hops, and it did not moved ( not like the pads in my front brake....)
Jake.
If there's still a gap I think over time with riding your headset will keep coming loose until it's firmly at the bottom.
HippY
yea, I will check for fork rocking after every minute, I just dont have the heart to hammer the crown more

Man up, hit it harderrrrr Is that the time we did it in my front room at 9am on a Sunday with everyone still sleeping and hit it so hard we went through the rug and carpet with your dropouts? you have no idea how loud that was haha.. Might be worth giving this a try if you have some adjustable pliers. get the jaws above the crown race and just attack the axle / hinge with a hammer so you get more of an equal spread of force. meaning its more likely to go down that extra mm. (its also pretty satisfying) this may 'modify' your pliers so you may need to do some precision engineering with that hammer again to straighten them back out using a screwdriver just makes me cringe}tfw integrated crown race Edited April 24, 2014 by ItsMatt

Oh shit I didn't realise everyone was still asleep hahaha. Yeah that was it, had to take the forks outside as I thought I would damage the lounge floor with the dropouts plus the fact i wanted a slightly less forgiving floor.
