Balancing along a thin log

So me and a mate were riding last night on some pretty thin logs.

I was wondering how you guys ride along them?

At first I was riding along them whilst looking at my front wheel and kept slipping off (poor disc)

However I changed my technique and simply looked ahead where I wanted to go and didn't even look at my tyre! And from this I went straight along it with no slippage and for the rest of the night I kept using this tekkers and didn't slip off.

Is this normal to do, just don't look at the tyre slash wheel and just look where you wana go?!

Confused to f**k
