marshole82
Hi all, I'm struggling to get the setup I initially wanted due to lack of forks in the configuration I need. So now I'm after some advice! I'll be mainly doing streets stuff in the dry, maybe a skate park, maybe some gaps, so I'm not fussed on wet braking just yet. I have a zebdi frame with standard bosses, so could do vee or maybe Maggy rear? I was looking for vee forks but I'm coming up short. So do I get Maggy forks or disc forks for the front? Setup A Hold out for vee forks with 10mm dropout and 190 steerer and run vees front and back Setup B get Maggy forks (like onza) and run Maggy front and either vee or Maggy rear Setup C Get disc forks and run mech/hyd disc up front with vee or Maggy on rear What's best for what I'll be riding? Disc front and vee back seems the easiest to come by. Although if there is a fork and break combo available on here that will suit then I'm all ears! isitafox
Disc front Vee rear, BB7 up front will do the job and can make use of a V lever I assume you already have.
HippY
honestly since I started to use disc on the front on my (ex)mod, I love the feeling of the disc on the front, although for trials use maggy was awesome For street I went for DD as I could and most of the best riders ride them, so it might be good If I were you I would go a disc on the front and V on the back, so you will get good modulation for front wheel moves, at rear you get nice braking power and you will dont need to worry about the V to Maggy adapter and the complication about the hydro brakes Edit: And what isitafox said Edited April 5, 2014 by UKHippY

I remember discussing this briefly with you by PM. I must hav been labouring under a false pretence that vee forks would be an easy find!!! marshole82
So if I wanted to go hydraulic, what's good? See a few magura Marta sets about, juicy 5s? Shimano any good and do all tthese use standard ISO fitting? I seem to remember some shimano rotors being screw on...
marshole82
Or hope minis?
isitafox
Not mini's, not enough power in them. If you want something cheap get either a Shimano Deore, Magura MT2 or try and find a 2nd hand Hope Mono Trial. Other than that I'd go for a BB7 as they have loads of power, cheap and easy to get hold of and are very easy to maintain.
