Hope Factory Tour June 4th

Quick update, I'm working nights this week and currently feel like shit so there's a good chance that I may have to give this a miss depending on how much sleep I can get and how rough I feel.

As such, if everybody who is going can check this thread on Wednesday morning I'll let you know the current situation. If I don't go it's just a case of everyone going to reception at Hope for 10am where Alan will meet you and give you all a tour though I'm praying it doesn't come to that!

I'd probably suggest strapping a pair of balls on and/or consuming your energy drink of choice and getting the f**k over there. When you're checking it all out you won't be thinking "Man, I feel really tired", you'll just be thinking "This machine is f**king huge and they're using it just to make M5 shroud nuts. What the f**k."

Whoever didn't turn up missed out Big time, that was an amazing day out. Now I know what goes into making hope parts I no longer think they are expensive.

Also great bunch of lads, Hope to meet up for a ride soon.

What a day. Ian, the owner, is so chilled out its unreal. He knows literally everything, no matter what question we asked him, he had an answer for it. Mark W was right about the shroud nut machine, its massive. Then at the end of the tour, he says " go to the back door, there's a rack of bikes you can use on the pump track that Nico Vink built". DMR drone reptoids with full team green stuff on. Ogre managed to blag a try-all brake rotor and some purple lever screws. There was a massive pile of old try all rotors, and the monty ones that tartys say they can't get. Must have been 40+. Wilf has pics of the lever body, the 3d printed prototype, and from what info I could glean out of Ian the owner, and Alan the sales and marketing guy, Kenny belaey is testing them at the moment, and they are planning on bringing out a 12t driver for the 116mm 80ep bmx hub. Which is good for trials riders. They weren't being particularly secretive about anything, as quite a few people know stuff is being developed, and didn't mind us all taking pictures. Which is good. A few pics below

The rim brake lever body, part machined. Its a flip flop design, and is gonna be dot fluid filled so they said

Hope rim brake clamps. Lots smaller than magura clamps

Custom pace/hope downhill bike. Seriously retro coolness. The dh4 brakes it had on it felt box fresh

There was so much to take in. The whole atmosphere of the place is so calm and cool its unbelievable. Everywhere we turned was a different bike kitted out with team green gear, that the employees get as a perk. They keep them for a year and get sold on. Then they get a new one. Its makes you proud to be British seeing the factory, as we are at the centre of high quality bike components, and apart from the cnc machined parts, everything really is hand assembled. The craftsmanship is amazing

Awaits the one of the hubs from wilf...

Haha that's a beauty. They are both normal hubs, it's just dan is so small he makes it look huge
