manuel
Hey - for the home owners on here. I had my roof replaced/recovered last year. Unfortunately it leaks.... Builder is ignoring calls now after 2.5 months of chasing and trying to get him to come and fix it. He admitted fault as the guys he sent round to look at it said to my face what was the problem. I can't wait any longer getting damp, so it needs fixing. Could that be covered under my buildings insurance ? It doesn't seem clear - I would count it as an act of vandalism which would be covered !! (can't get through right now) I don't really want to have to do small claims, but Im guessing it may be my only option. anyone had any similar experiences/advice ? HippY
did you signed an agreement with the contractor?
monkeyseemonkeydo
I wouldn't have thought it would be covered by insurance but always worth checking. Not unless you can pretend the issue has been caused by recent bad weather or something... How major is the remedial work going to be? shercofray
What did the original contract with the builder state? I don't think you'll be able to claim on the insurance for something like that - but worth checking as every policy varies.
