bask
Hello, I have a question, how is holding up the breath 26 frame? and who tested it? Thanks, Bask.
J.KYDD
It's basically a Koxx Sky frame. Only 'testers' were the Breath team, but there is a fairly high number of very good riders using them.

dann2707
Mates cracked his on both brake mounts and he's not even a big rider. Ride really well but the quality of the metal and the welds are f**king shocking.
J.KYDD
My mod is a beaut. It's lasted longer than both my previous frames - Onza Genesis and Limey 420 Proto
mata22
i wonder if you can tell me what kind of headset does breath have? i have gold sky and upper headset produce cracking noise all the time. it is type of headset ( campagnolo i think it is called ) where bearing sits directly on frame
J.KYDD
Pretty sure the Breath uses an internal / semi-integrated / Zerostack headset (all the same thing). Cups still push into the frame, but the frame is over sized to allow it to sit within the headtube. Bearings then drop into that cup http://huckit.net/pub/headsets.jpg The Sky frames use a wired mix of fully integrated & semi integrated headset. The top bearing drops straight into the frame to sit against a machined race (integrated), while the bottom bearing fits into a semi-integrated cup Edited March 21, 2014 by J.KYDD

craigjames
Mates cracked his on both brake mounts and he's not even a big rider. Ride really well but the quality of the metal and the welds are f**king shocking. This suprises me, as three of us that ride locally have Breath frames and I would say the welds appear as good as any other trials frame really. Not had any issues at all, so i've just gone and bought a 20" frame too.
BradJohnson
The only problem on the newer ones is the brake mounts. On the pre 2012 models they cracked at the chainstay, but the newer ones have gussets to stop this. Run a booster with the newer ones amd it should last a long time. bask
so.. basicaly it's a sky replica.. but how long it's lasted before it cracked? I don't know what frame to buy any opinions?
dave33
Breath frame is totaly different from a koxx sky I am afraid to say. I previously rode a koxx sky. In comparison the breath is shorter in reach and the bb rise is slightly lower about 65mm depending on forks. Regarding the quality you have nothing to worry about. Buying any trials frame is equaly the same in terms on risk. As it's not going to last forever. Cop are it to my last 3 frames. Koxx sky, rockman slate and slate xl they are slightly more durable than than these in regards to down tube dents. As I found the rockman downtube to be easily dented. Also the head tube area where iv snapped rockmans has seemed to be alot stronger. As I expected it to crack at the head tube but it didn't. The weakest point is undoubtedly the welded area on the 4 bolt. I had a frame which cracked after 6 months of heavy riding on weld in this area. I was using the racing line nano lever and 2 bolt carbon booster which added to the streets on the lower weld where it cracked. Now running the standard 14mm racing line and no booster with out any problems. As for value you get alot for your money. Consider a nice 4 bolts booster to be on the safe side though Edited March 23, 2014 by dave33
