*gentlydoesit
Is it possible to take enough material off the clamps to make it washerless? It would sort two ptoblems I have, firstly I don't have any washers :l , secondly, the booster bolts I've bought are only 40mm and don't go as far into the thread as I'd like. isitafox
Not sure about running standard clamps without the washers but if you want to use the shorter bolts just cut the sleeve spacers down a bit, will make the booster more effective as well. *gentlydoesit
Good point. I've offered it up just now, 4-5mm spacers could work, the edge of the booster touches the clamp when the clamp is slid 3/4 the way up. so as long as the wheel is far enough back it should work. I can't try it out propperly as I havnt got the wheel back yet :! Still, interested to know if anyone has ever tried.
HippY
I had a pair of Echo washerless clamps, that have been grinded so the can take a 4 bolt booster, as it was too tall/bolts were too short for the previous owner. The bottom parts top was grinded a little bit as well, but still retained its washerless capabilities, if that helps you
AdamR28
Is it possible to take enough material off the clamps to make it washerless? Probably, but not ideal... You can just use two bottom halves if that's the sort of thing that floats your boat
dann2707
I did it, it was a pain and didn't keep them straight what so ever. Milled them on the milling machine tooooo. I went through a stage of trying to bodge stuff, try to try alternative routes to get my bike up and running and it seriously just didn't work. With bikes like these I recommend just doing everything properly. Like with the bleed etc
*gentlydoesit
Probably, but not ideal... You can just use two bottom halves if that's the sort of thing that floats your boat cnc'd ones with racingline spacers from off your shelf float my boat I could get washers, i'm just looking for a temporary measure for now, mostly because i cant find a supplyer of gold ti 45mm bolts, also because I don't think its possible to go any further over budget than I am now... imagine setting yourself a budget then timesing it by infinity while sucking on a crack pipe, and you'll be just shy of where I'm at. And I still havnt got all the parts I need Edited March 13, 2014 by *gentlydoesit
