ogre
could interest some of you; dual piston mechanical caliper. for thos unfamiliar with normal cable discs, one pad is fixed, so the rotor often rubs and drags. if these are up to the job and affordable they could be fricken sweet...
Scott Gibbs
Hmmm now that looks interesting. I'd like to see what happens when they hit production.
AdamR28
Yeah, they are a nice bit of kit in the flesh. Priced a bit more than bb7s though and as much as a proven hydraulic disc... Would any of you guys buy them? We didn't think so but happy to get some in!
Blake
A big selling point for bb5/7s is the low cost of them, not sure if these would take off in trials
isitafox
The other big selling point though is the fact they are low maintenance because they are cable, no chance of burst seals or anything like on Saints

aener
I'd love to have a go with one of these. Always really liked the feel and ease of BB7s but was seduced by hydraulics, so would be hugely intrigued by one of these. Cool idea
CurtisRider
RST did a mechanical disc brake caliper which operated both pads about 15 years ago I think it was this one, but I'm struggling to find info out and cba to put much effort in At the time it was a dead powerful brake but let down by uber heavyness and being a very close cost to hydraulic brakes although it did include a hub in the cost! Jake.
Adam what's the smallest amount of them you can get? I can definitely see you selling ten or so without too much hassle but if you had say over 50 that'd be a bit of a push? Unless they're a revolution and are much better than expected, better than avids etc then you'll want loads haha.
HippY
what power they can provide and how they compare to other hydro disc brakes?

He was messing jake I'm sure adam knows a fair bit about buying and selling stock by now considering he owns probably the most popular trials shop worldwide, and owns another popular scooter shop. Jake.
Adam asked if any of us would buy them that's the only reason why, ah well. Only trying to help.
JDâ„¢
Chill. You're obviously on a comedown or something, because I used not one but TWO smilies to illustrate that I was messing. But now that you've got your vagina out, you weren't answering his question, you were teaching basic retail (or common sense) to someone with experience in retail, and common sense.
marko
how can a mechanical disc brake have pistons anyway? That caliper should have twice as much cable pull per given pad movement compared to an avid BB5/7 where only one pad is moving. Blake
how can a mechanical disc brake have pistons anyway? Easier way of saying separate and independently moving pads.

Oh yeah i remember them!! I had one on the front of my old barracuda. They were on or off and spat me over the bars many times!
