wez k
Hi jumped on bike this morn and noticed cranks creaking. It happens when pedals are under load and rotating I.e. when pedaling on a flat. I not had chance to investigate yet.but how difficult is it to strip necessary components then to rebuild thanks
HippY
Do they move, or they just making noise? Do you feel any rubbing? Very first step, pull the bolts on the cranks really tight, you must have them tight

Blake
Buy a crank puller, tarty sell a good one or a local shop should have one. Then follow instructions online
isitafox
You need a crank puller to remove the cranks, what frame is it? It might be worth greasing the bottom bracket as well.
wez k
Don't have a crank puller is there amother method I got a car ball joint splitter the fork type. The bike is 2009 onza rip with standard components
isitafox
You could probably force it off with a mallet but I wouldn't recommend it. Have you tried just removing the pedals and greasing the threads on them?
