Good afternoon everyone.

I'm currently looking into hosting an indoor riding event in the North East area of England. The event will be similar to the 3sixty trials jam that was held a few years ago.

If everything goes to plan, the event will be run over a weekend closer to the Summer.

At the event you can expect onsite catering, as well as a stalls from local bike shops.

Throughout the weekend we will be giving away freebies to riders including stickers, t-shirts and some little trinkets.

As we are still in the planning stages, that's the only information we have, but we will keep everyone updated.

Who would up up for this?

Cheers,
John @ Freewheel Display Team

wouldn't an indoor event be more popular in the winter? and outdoors in the summer...

As we all know, A British Summer mostly consists of bad weather :giggle: .

So the idea was to make an event that would still go to plan, even if the weather took a turn for the worst.

Although the place we are thinking of hosting the event, does have a small outdoor riding area which could be used if it was getting a little to warm inside.

how would you be cooling the indoor bit?

The place we are looking at is an Indoor skate park that I've rode myself, back in the BMX days. The place is quite a large area, so it shouldn't get too stuffy in there.

Here's a little video from the 3Sixty which is held in the same skate park:

Do you have any idea how much it will cost? And is there camping or locals hotels near by? But I do agree with the British wether being bad haha

I have a meeting with Rosa from Dynamix skate park on Friday, so I will know exactly what's happening then.

I think they may be a possibility to camp over, as there was that option for the 3Sixty Jam.

The prices will hopefully be below £25 for the weekend depending on number of riders Etc.

That would be my first thought, ideally run furring the winter months. I think so many get put off with shit weather darkness that it would be a welcome chance to ride over the winter

As I say, I don't have any set dates yet, i was thinking between the start of April and the end of May.

I think with stuff like this you just have to do it, tell people when it is, and hope they come. Half the people who say they will come won't, and you'll (hopefully) get people who don't even know about Trials-Forum turning up. Sounds harsh but that's the reality...

It's an awful lot of work to put on an event like this and do it well, but it is worthwhile.

I've had a meeting this afternoon with the owner of R-kade skatepark in Redcar ( http://www.r-kadeskatepark.com/ ) and the guy seemed very keen on the idea.
He's currently in the process of building an external trials park so he liked the idea of hosting the event.
The guy wanted to know how many people we can expect and he want to know if any big named riders will be popping down as this will be a good talking point for the event.

He also want to find a big sponsor for the event, and he kept trying to hint for me to try and get Danny Macaskill there :giggle:
He liked the idea of giving prizes out, and wanted to try and get cash prizes for some of the competitions.

I took a load of photo's of the park and i'll upload those as soon as i can.

Any questions or suggestions are welcome, just fire away.
Many thanks.
