pete1871
Found on facebook but the guy knows very little about it, just states onza pro, anyone know anymore about it and what its worth?Doh, as attached.
isitafox
Onza Pro's usually sell for anything between £100-200 depending on the spec. I'd put that one at about £150-170 though the fact the seller doesn't know much is worrying.
pete1871
Its his sons bike and he never used it, good beginners/first bike? I have never ridden trials before and am a complete novice, have everything to learn, would this be a good thing to start on? Can you give me any other info on it from the pic? isitafox
Excellent bike to start and learn on and if you decide to stick with a mod (20") then there's lots of bits on that that would easily carry over to a new frame.
pete1871
Sweet, thanks for the info, ill see what I can get it for and let you know how I get on.
Blake
That's an onza pro, same geo but some different features. Non internal headtube and intergrated chain tensioners. £170 is a bit of bargs but if you can get it for £150 that would be a very good deal. I would ride that bike as it is, but would change to an ISIS crankset
pete1871
so I lost out on the onza still looking for a starter bike, also....20" or 26"? my budget is about 150-200 and have no idea of what's good value and what's not....advice and recommendations would be awesome, thanks
isitafox
If you've ridden 26" mountain bikes quite a bit then there is a belting Echo Pure for sale on here for bang on £200. Absolute classic bike, perfect starter machine as well!
pete1871
Never ridden any trials bikes to be fair, but was of the understanding that a 20 inch wheel was the easiest to start on? I do like the look of the echo though.
isitafox
It can be though back in the day a lot of us started on 26 and have never ridden anything else. I had a brief affair with a 20 but came back to 26! And that Pure is a beauty!
Tom Booth
26" bikes are harder to get chucking about, but once you've got the knack of it, there no harder at all, easier to learn rolling manouvers on thou.
pete1871
To be honest im also liking the look of the echo lite on the sales page....more than I wanted to spend but could stretch to it or sonewhere near, I guess the more I spend the longer itll last me if I properly get into it?
Tom Booth
It'll last a lifetime looked after properly. I can't think of any 04 echo purse that snapped/cracked, the rear hope pro2 is the trials riders cassette hub of choice and incredibly strong. The only real weak link I can think of are the Fatty R forks, but if full asking was paid I might be swayed to Include the Echo pure forks I have to match the frame. pete1871
so won an echo lite from ebay yesterday and picked up this morning, seems all good but rear magura needs bleeding/filling, never done this before and have searched and seen the different methods but just wondered what was the best method in people's options? do I get a service kit for £20 or water bleed for free, any positive or negative points? also can you get the adaptors to the master cylinder separately as I have a syringe and clear tube rec but no adaptor? I'll get some pics in a bit if the weather ever improves??? Pete.oh.....does the forum support tapalk? anyone know, it doesn't seem to want to connect on my phone. isitafox
Nope don't think we're tapatalk compatable anymore. Magura fittings are available seperate from Tartybikes. Don't waste your money, bath bleed with water mixed with a bit of anti freeze!
bing
Water bleed it. Bath bleed it and you won't need a syringe, the link is in revolvers signature on here. If you need a barbed fitting, give Ben at trials addict a bell, or tartys. They are only a few quid like.
pete1871
Awesome cheers guys, im guessing its easier to just take the caliper off and do them with the lever still on the bar otherwise ill have to take the grip off?
isitafox
If you bath bleed the brake it'll have to come off unless you want to dip the handlebars in (which I have done before!)
bing
Taking the grip off to get a good bleed is no biggie, trust me. Hairspray sticks them back on rather well anyway
pete1871
I'll give it a go then.....just ordered a syringe, adaptor and hose from tarty for 6quid posted as a backup, figured it's a good backup. so, I have a bike, helmet and gloves....what should I do next? pete1871
nope....watched a lot of stuff on you tube but need to know where to start really, after 10mins between rain storms, my balance in general needs a little improvement lol and I found out I can still bunnyhop and endo (been a while since I've had a bike with pedals) but feel like I'm a million miles from anything like what I've watched on you tube! much practice needed I think. since1949
so won an echo lite from ebay yesterday and picked up this morning, seems all good but rear magura needs bleeding/filling, never done this before and have searched and seen the different methods but just wondered what was the best method in people's options? do I get a service kit for £20 or water bleed for free, any positive or negative points? also can you get the adaptors to the master cylinder separately as I have a syringe and clear tube rec but no adaptor? For the maguras, you have a lot of how to bleed tutorials on youtube, and for the grips, i use isoprophilic alcohol to remove them and the same for the refitting. For the tutorials, check this YouTube channel. It´s on spanish but doesn´t matter, it´s really instructive: http://www.youtube.com/user/janeberle/videos Edited January 26, 2014 by since1949
