*gentlydoesit
I've missed the auction on those but there's a pair for £30ish... not that saving cash is the priority, but I love a bargain .try those out or go for somthing tried and tested from tarty? Jake.
I wouldn't run them. I have a gut feeling the sidewalls are probably really thin, and the fact it's a folding tyre too. Give it a go if it's cheap enough though, tell us how it is.
isitafox
Pair of Stikys from tarty for £40, tried and tested and a bargain!
*gentlydoesit
Pair of Stikys from tarty for £40, tried and tested and a bargain!yeah, I remember you said, i was going to get them, then dave said they were the wrong type or somthing When I saw those I was wondering if they were 'heard of' tyres as their description sounds trials-able. If no one has ridden them I'm not sure i want to break new ground just yet. noob n all
isitafox
He said that because there's a newer 'lite' version which the rear alone costs £55. People have been running the standard version for years and they are more than up to the job, I've just picked up a pair for myself for my new build until I can afford to get a Der Kaiser on the rear which is pretty much the finest 26" tyre you can use! *gentlydoesit
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201005757274 I've seen loads of differnt types of kasiers, my brain hurts. are these the ones I want?
isitafox
Yes, and bloody cheap to boot!
marshole82
sorry for the hijack - i notice that Laiser is DH tyre and is wire bead. is there a reason that a dh tyre is so good? are DH tyres used in trials more often than not? are kevlar beads too weak? isitafox
You want a good wide tyre with decent grip. Der Kaisers are probably the best 26" trials tyre you can get, the sticky black chilli compound anyhow. Also you want a wire bead rather than foldable as it protects against pinch flats more
marshole82
Cheers for the reply, all the little things a newbie like me needs to know!
*gentlydoesit
I got a worn sticky light, I'm pretty sure it not a wire bead. (Could be wrong)
Blake
There are about 18 types of black chilli compound, dictated by the price really. Get try all stickys unless you get the Kaiser off tarty. Try all tyres are designed for trials and trials alone. The mod one I had was the vest tyre I ever had. 40quid is a deal as well.
