RyanR
Hi, and merry Christmas to you all New here so sorry if this is in the wrong section, I have got a Onza bird 2010 and I am looking to put a side pull brake on it, I would just put a v brake on but there is no mounts on the forks for one, the only side pull I can find isn't a deep enough drop, I need about 11.5 cm the largest I have found is 7. I was wondering if anyone on here has done this and could give me a link to a brake which would fit. Thanks, Ryan.

Kevinfor
A what pull sorry? I think its a kind of u-brake. I dont think that would be good for trials, I would just get some new forks.
RyanR
Hi I would need a side pull I think but can't find one with a deep enough drop If worst comes to worst I'll just put my disc brake back on rather than buying new forks. Cheers
dave33
Don't think you can because of the length of the forks and wheel dia, if you wanted to fit a rim brake then you would need new forks with v brake mounts or magura 4 bolt mounts. dezmtber
Put the disc back on mate. Or buy an avid bb5 or 7. the side pull/ u brakes wont be available with that kind of drop, and if they where the flex would ruin any braking force it has. the hole in the fork is there for mounting a front reflector or mudguard i know ha ha Edited December 25, 2013 by dezmtber
RyanR
Ok cheers for that I'll put the disc brake back on, I always thought that the hole in the forks was to mount a rim brake, Cheers everyone.
Ash-Kennard
think they are for reflectors/u-brakes/mud guard holes, but yeah stick disc!
