isitafox
Spent too long trying to convince myself that I liked a high bb when really I wasn't 100% happy so I have gone back to a frame I know I like. Needs a few bits tidying up like the headset bearings, pedals, stem wants helicoiling, new chain and the hoses want sorting but I'm really pleased with it. Spec is a bit random, best bit for me has to be the rear Pro 2 on an Echo SL rim! Anyway here's a before pic, gonna set to work on it after xmas and hopefully be up and running in the new year!

isitafox
Not sure off the top of my head, will have a measure today! EDIT: Got a few bits ordered for it last night, new Trialtech front sprocket so I can run a narrower chain, pair of Try All Stiky tyres (will get a Der Kaiser on the rear when I can afford it), new rim tapes, reservoir cover for my Trialzone as the current one is knackered, Racing Line TPA pin and a Racing Line piston for my SL lever. Gonna swap my Echo platforms on to it and then all I really need is a new front wheel sorting!
isitafox
what lngth stem is that? iv not seen them before Stem would appear to be 120 x 17°

isitafox
That's the one thing I'm struggling with, I ran my last one with (I think) 15mm of stackers and a Trialtech high rise stem which was 130 x 25° and I'm not sure if I want to go that high again though I did like it. Tempted to try the lower Crewkerz stem (120 x 25°) instead maybe.
trialsiain
nice i had a go of my mates pure today felt lovely to ride That's the one thing I'm struggling with, I ran my last one with (I think) 15mm of stackers and a Trialtech high rise stem which was 130 x 25° and I'm not sure if I want to go that high again though I did like it. isitafox
No that's way too high, tried it with my old one and it was too much. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the 2011 (which I used to have) and this 2012 and all I can see is the head angle on this is 0.5° steeper giving more reach, If that is the case then a 150 will feel even worse as it will stretch me too much. I think first I'll helicoil this one and give it try to see how I get on!
Jake.
Slam it. Looks good. But it needs slamming.
Blake
My mate had one with a slammed stem and I think one of those stems with low riser TT's. it felt really really powerful on backwheel, while still manoeuvrable. Like a comp bike.
isitafox
Project is now on hold after I spotted the downtube has been welded on the gusset that meets the headtube, watch this space....
isitafox
Well the lad I swapped with tells me he didn't know about the crack and repair the frame has had in the whole 5 months of him owning it and is refusing to swap back with me. Safe to say I'm very wary about going near the bike now as I know that is the common place for Pures to snap and I haven't got the cash to replace the frame. Good to know I've just ordered a load of parts which are absolutely no use to me now as I don't have a bike to put them on and won't for the forseeable future. isitafox
Did a straight swap, my Marino for this Pure though I kept my bars, brakes and forks. He reckons a mate called Bri (he doesn't know his surname and the guy no longer rides) got the frame for him off here before he was a member but that's all he could tell me, obviously not a very good liar! isitafox
Been talking to his mate who apparently uses his account also, had a bit of abuse regarding my level of riding and the fact I can't put a bike together properly(???) who still insists they don't know who the frame was bought from and can't tell me the guy who bought it for him. I'm obviously not going to get anything back but I'm pretty sure I can find out where it has come from.

isitafox
Here's some pics of the crack repair. Best I could get as the frame is chained up with my other bikes in a dark shed! And the roughest Pro 2 116mm conversion ever? (hence my status earlier)
err
Is there only a single bearing in the freehub body?
James281098
Could you not just go to see him if you have his address? He might own up in person? Just a thought. Out of interest what are your other bikes?
isitafox
He wouldn't own up in person, the guy is a c**t. Anyway, here's a few more pics of the hub. Not actually as bad as I expected though it's not a professional job by a loooooong way!
isitafox
Found this today as well, an image showing the thieving twat and surprise surprise there's no crack though this is no doubt a completely different frame
