Hollandtrail
After buying a bike this summer and reading some topics here, it's time to post something by myself. I have been riding for +/- 10 times now, but can't make a endo 180. Mostly I end up going to 90 degrees and instead of turning more, I actually come back to my original position of 0 degrees? I'm not sure why I can't turn enough to make 180. I included a video, feedback will be appreciated. The last 1-1.5 minutes is trackstand, (if you get bored). bing
You have to turn your body as well, and that's after only watching 10 seconds of it. You have to throw your body in the direction you want the bike to spin, and get your head looking in the direction you want to face. Simple as that. Better trackstand is practice, pure and simple. Watch this. It's a bit agricultural, but you'll see what I mean Edited December 17, 2013 by bing
FamilyBiker
kind of carving into it also helps a lot (like in bings vid),just steer your front wheel a bit in the turns direction before hitting the brake, then give a little twist with your hips Edited December 17, 2013 by FamilyBiker
fruitbat
Best advice i was giving was start rotating a split second before you press your brake, sorta turn into it and then your back end needs kicking out with the same momentum when you press the front brake, gives you the momentum to carry it further round, try it but don't go for a 180 straight away as it might end messy, get used to the idea first then go further and further. Also , please
bing
Thanks for the safety warning. I know the risks. It's just an endo though for demo purposes
trialsiain
If your going halfway and coming back , then maybe your not putting enough force into it , try throwing your hips more

Hollandtrail
Thanks for the feedback everybody, I really appreciate it. I'm gonna try all the advice and hope to post a video of an endo 180 later this week.
Hollandtrail
I can almost make an endo 180 now . The main key was to turn my front wheel in a bit more. Like 70-90 degrees instead of 20-30. Because of that I can also turn my body in a bit more. Now I need to practice to do a good, full and nice looking endo 180. P.S. I wear my helmet now (A)

hezzay
Nice! Why not in the winter? Not a lot of riders around here, but cherish the ones you find. One day we'll have group rides every week! Keep dreaming.......
*gentlydoesit
You seem to be looking the wrong way to me , always over your left shoulder. I think looking forward in line with the frame, or over the right shoulder in the direction of travel might help

Hollandtrail
Is it also normal that the inside of my ankles (from endo180) and my knuckles (from the brake levers) are bleeding from riding. And that the callus on the inside of my hand is falling off ? Practicing backhops for the last time this year:
bing
No mate, not at all. If your knuckles are bleeding, sounds like your levers are in the wrong place, and this will impede your progress.
