i like cunning stunts
Ive had lots and lots of hopes over the years but people rave about the saints so I am considering them for my next bike. Im looking for opinions on Pros and cons for each but ultimately I want the best brake available hold and bite. Dont say maggys as there not an option Cheers Edited December 11, 2013 by i like cunning stunts

Blake
Cons of saints is you'll go over the bars when you pull them best feeling disc i've ever felt people rate them well for a reason
i like cunning stunts
What rotors are people using with them?

LEON
Why m820? The m810 are much better for trials.

bing
I'll just leave this here. M810s on ice techs every time. God damn I wish I had some of these brakes again

i like cunning stunts
This is it what bothers me they look overkill on a mod which is what il be buying them for.
Filo
I've found the shimano have more pad knock. The pad knock feels shity when gaping to rear. I've never had any issues with the hopes either
i like cunning stunts
Ive ordered the hopes now with is mounts as I dont like using adaptors plus the hopes just look better built imho. Cheers

Jake.
Why even bother making this thread if you're going to ignore what everyone says? Bit pointless really!

I've never had any issues with the hopes either i asked why he thought the m810s where better no answer. Filo that he explains that he has pad knock with his which you dont get with hopes. The people who rate the saints give no feedback as to why. The pic of the mod with them on looks rubbish they look too big and bulky. I cant get them in IS mounts so would have to buy adaptors. Theres a few reasons there that i didnt realise before making a thread on it.
Jake.
He hasnt ignored everyone really as there are people saying they rate hopes and saints Read the thread, people tend to be suggesting more in the direction of saints, that's what I was getting at. pjl1984
I agree they do but as he stated he waz going for m820s not m810s that everyone else talks about but fair play
LEON
No one likes the levers (really short) and the lack of adjustment.
isitafox
The one thing I hate about the Saints is if a piston seal goes then thats the end of the brake though they are like riding into a brick wall when they work!
LEON
Yeah, that's the bad thing about Shimano, and the good thing about Hope.
FamilyBiker
there are seals, but to get them you have to be a distributor.aaaand, they cost 30.- a set, bullsh*t when a caliper costs 80. shimano does this with everything, spares cost more than a whole gearset for a nexus hub Edited December 12, 2013 by FamilyBiker
bing
This is it what bothers me they look overkill on a mod which is what il be buying them for. Trust me, they are not overkill. Maybe 180 rotors are over kill, but I'd rather have too much power than only just enough. They were by far the best brakes I've ever had, and would buy another set in an instant if I had the cash. They really are that good. Better than any hope I've ever tried. The only other disk brake I'd have over these if I was in the market for a new set is a magura gustav m, but they don't make them anymore. Nothing else even comes close
