Trials-Mikey
So I have tried every method even with two people turning the wheel in the vice and it still won't budge even with some gt85. Basically can I take it off with a grinder ?
TriаlsRider
>Basically can I take it off with a grinder ? No, you can't. You must take a challenge and get strong enough to take it off with your own hands.
onzatpro09
I had the same problem a while ago, I used a blowtorch and then popped it in the vice while still hot and it came off without putting too much of a fight. The threads on the hub are okay too. If a blowtorch isn't available a grinder should be okay. Edit: When trying to get it off initially I couldn't get it off with me, my fairly beefy dad and our rather large, manly mechanic friend. We snapped a tooth on the sprocket, snapped two chains and bent a sprocket removal tool before we took the blowtorch to it. *gentlydoesit
Pics? Steel sprocket, ally hub? If its been there a while it might be corroded. more people , small amount of heat, Gt85 overnight? Grinder as a very last resort.

Is your oven big enough to fit the wheel in? I guess grinding is your only option, although it's a messy one so you need to be extra careful not to go too deep and muck up the hub threads, which might be difficult in a cloud of sparks
err
if you're willing to kill the sprocket, try shocking it loose with a big hammer and a bit of metal bar as a drift Edited December 11, 2013 by err

Grind two sizable flat areas on opposing sides of it then try again in the vice, the heat from grinding should help

BradJohnson
Shout at it really loudly adding in a lot of abusive swear words, scratch you're head a little, and by this point you'll be so wound up, your adrenaline will kick in and the little bugger will come off with some brute force! This is a tried and tested method ^

dezmtber
Pour loads of boiling water on it from the kettle. Try that before the blow torch. Does work sometimes
