James281098
Hi guys, I have just bought inspired team forks and I have to use a lot of spacers because I don't want to cut them, I was wondering by using more spacers will it weaken the forks or shouldn't it matter? crilin202
How come you don't want to cut it to the right size for you? a whole tower of spacers is not a great idea Edited November 28, 2013 by crilin202
isitafox
Don't worry about running loads of spacers the forks will be fine!
James281098
Thanks guys , I don't want to cut them because I want to run a inspired top cap and the thread only goes abit of the way down:P
Martin Reynolds
Thanks guys , I don't want to cut them because I want to run a inspired top cap and the thread only goes abit of the way down:P if the inspired forks are anything like the trialtech ones, they are threaded down until vitually the headtube
isitafox
But still don't cut them down!
TriаlsRider
Try to ride with as much spacers as you can. And don't worry about anything, steerer tube is very strong. Alot of riders prefer much of spacers because for example: my setup=90x35 stem with 45mm spacers have the same height as 150x30 stem without any spacers. I don't want to ride a bike with lower bars than I have now(104cm from ground, BB is 338mm from ground, so the difference is ~70.2cm). I'm even was forced to buy a new uncut fork because it was hasty to cut steerer tube. Edited November 29, 2013 by TriаlsRider
James281098
How come you don't think I should cut them? (I'm not going too I'm just wondering) and I've felt how far down the thread goes its not that long it doesn't even go down the length of my finger haha
isitafox
If you ever come to sell it'll be far easier than if they've been cut as most street riders run/prefer a full length steerer.

James281098
Thanks guys for all help! I have one other question abit off topic and thought I'd post in here instead of starting a new topic, I was talking to mark about stem choices and he said the shorter the stem is the "poppier" your bike is... (In his own words haha) .I had a 110x35bbb and now have a truvative 80x7 and it feels quite good, I am thinking about buying a hope 75x25 will this feel a lot different to what I have now? Thanks james
isitafox
Yes, the extra height alone will make a difference. If you're not sure I have an Onza stem that's 70 x 25° you could have cheap??
James281098
I would usually snap that offer up but I can't as I'm on a budget for a stem and brake but thanks for the offer. Would this make the bars feel a lot closer to me or not so much? I know that there would be a fairly big increase in rise but not to sure on if it would feel to close to me? If you get what I mean?
