TriаlsRider
Is that normal to determine which bike is more suitable for you just by looking the pictures? Especially like this one (when you clearly see geo but don't know the numbers). Few times I was 100% right in foreseeing will I like the geo of bike from picture or not (I saw a photo, rated it, then rode bike from photo and then compared my assumptions to real feelings). FamilyBiker
a certain geo rides like it rides due to the numbers. yes,if you rode a few bikes you could predict how it rides to a certain point.but mainly from experience whats the point of that? just want to know that out of interest, until now i´ve seen every trials frame i own(ed) in person way after it was a certain geo by numbers,so i do it the other way round i think: -determine a geo -turns out it rides like it was calculated edit:was i supposed to answer, not being a very skilled rider ? SamKidney
I get what you mean. A few people here often look at handle bar angles, how steep/slack a head angle looks etc... and make "judged" comments on them. You can't tell until you ride it I reckon. I'm no skilled rider, but you can look at a bike and think it would ride nice, only to find the opposite.

stirlingpowers
I look at the videos of riders who have comparable height and strength, and I observe the general style, i.e. if I ride or want to ride like that.
dngr2self
I've always thought if it looks right it is right.
LEON
I know what you mean, I always look at bar height, bb rise etc and just decide if it looks like I'll like it, I'm usually right. I pretty much guessed the first Skye geo before it was out & it was all a mystery.

eskimo
Some riders can and others can't. Though some bikes can catch you out. I wouldn't say it's todo with skill, but experience.
Ross McArthur
But why is it when I look at a bike with a steep head angle and think, I could nose roll that, I can't? Nice bike that.

bikeperson45
I thought I could do this, predicted my Ashton's feel pretty perfectly, but then I rode a Zoot and was like 'woahwoahwoah this makes no sense'.
