williams
Hey all! I've taken my bike apart now, and when I'm servicing the whole bike I want to make sure the freewheel is spot on. I've heard some guys say that leaving the freewheel in a bath with some kind of lube cleans it out, is this true? Or would it make some damage? Sorry for a bit of a stupid question, but I value my teeth's more than not looking stupid on the forum..
Blake
Leave it in a penetration fluid like WD or GT85 as opposed to just oil x
trials hoe
I left my sl in a bath of r/c fuel for a bit, gave it a swill and blasted it out with wd40 then used spray Teflon lube to get everything lubed up for use. Worked a treat, sounded better after it was cleaned too.
*gentlydoesit
Can you not take it apart and clean it manually?
williams
Leave it in a penetration fluid like WD or GT85 as opposed to just oil x Okey so some kind of fluid that 'cleans' and then oil it up with teflon oil? x Can you not take it apart and clean it manually? Nah, tried taking apart my old freewheel and I can't really be bothered.. I left my sl in a bath of r/c fuel for a bit, gave it a swill and blasted it out with wd40 then used spray Teflon lube to get everything lubed up for use. williams
There's no wd40 or gt85 ? Haha nope we don't. Soak it in petrol, then lube with a light oil Would the petrol used for a lawnmower be good enough?
Thehiphopsolidier
wd40 säljs på jula m.m. Jag kör med bräkclean, funkar jätte bra och lämna det tills det dunstar bort och på med olja. Funkar varje gång.
williams
Left it in some petrol for the night now. Can't wait for tomorrow when I'm building up the bike..
forteh
Lawnmower petrol will be fine, I assume it is a 2 stroke so will have extra oil in it which certainly won't hurt
