CurtisRider
Its worth buying a dimpled reflector, this reduces the harsh bright spot in the centre, think mine was about £4 posted so not exactly a costly upgrade!
dezmtber
I will get you guys a picture from my lupine piko 4, 1200 lumen light so you can compare these ebay lights because those ebay lights are really pretty good.
monkeyseemonkeydo
For £15 this light is awesome, did a great job this morning on mostly unlit roads and I used the dimmer setting most of the way. This is how it looked in the pitch black shed last night What is that? Assume a Cree XML T6? With the nights drawing in I'm tempted to upgrade my current unit. isitafox
Yup this bad boy, used it all this week and it's been awesome. The free rear light is a bag of shite though, mine fell to pieces last night on the way home. Luckily it wasn't dark at that point!
CurtisRider
I've ordered one as well, means I can have one on the bars and one on my helmet I need to do some proper night rides!

CurtisRider
Mine arrived, it has blinded several kids at school so I'm guessing it passes the test. Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow evening
trials26
Collected mine from the sorting office this morning, so yet to try them out - but reading the above, I can see myself waiting until its dark on purpose tonight... Got an LED light collar for Molly (our dog) also... Come at me dark (winter) haha
monkeyseemonkeydo
Had my first ride with them through the woods last night- very impressive! I had my Hope One on my helmet and the Cree on the bars and it made such a difference. Battery life is obviously slightly limited when run on full power (compared to the Hope that also uses 4 AA's) but still very impressive output. ogre
did the go-pro bodge as my boats suggested, rather pleased with the results! i am acquiring a second light very soon so i can have a small helmet light and run the heavier one on my bars. Tom Booth
Just ordered me a pair of these, bar and helmet mount. Can't wait!
CurtisRider
Even with just one they are awesome, I haven't even bothered using 2 yet! Went riding the other night and REALLY enjoyed it, night riding just adds an awesome thrill factor to even the most familiar routes
isitafox
Just make sure you charge the batteries somewhere inflammable!
CurtisRider
I use one of those nice modern Rc car chargers that sense when the battery is full and then have one of those lipo charging bags to keep the battery in whilst charging/in storage
monkeyseemonkeydo
Where do you chaps run the cable/mount the battery pack on these. Mine has a serious abundance of cable and the single velcro strap on the battery pack doesn't really keep it in place...
isitafox
I still have the cable tied up and just strap the battery at the front of the top tube on my mtb or under the stem on my road bike
CurtisRider
I made a plate that secures the battery pouch onto the bottle mounts I made a plate that secures the battery pouch onto the bottle mounts

Ross McArthur
Went out a blast on the MTB last night, just around town, "Urban DH" style. Seems to piss a lot of people off. Anyway, it gave me a massive hard on for riding trails in the dark with a light - something ive never done. Must do it soon!

Anyway, it gave me a massive hard on for riding trails in the dark with a light - something ive never done. Must do it soon! It's good fun (sort of) once you get going. I'm heading for a solo night ride to GT after work tonight. I haven't done a full "in the valley" night ride solo yet so it'll be interesting. I'm borrowing the new Nukeproof hard tail to see what all the fuss is about. Night riding is certainly better in a group as you get a visual pointer ahead of you, or other peoples lights add to your own, so no matter how bright a light you buy, when it's the only light source for miles around it still seems fairly dark.
Tom Booth
I've gotta admit, on last nights maiden voyage solo night ride it was abit daunting only being able to see 10-15ft ahead, only made me ride abit quicker thou to get out of the woods . Very very enjoyable thou, added a new aspect to riding!

It's strange when it's foggy or it's raining as when it catches the light it all whoops past like the star wars scene. Do you mount your light on your helmet then? I only use the one light and always go for the lid. Wouldn't mind a little addition on the bars to see in to the holes a bit better.
