repeatedly popping tubes

Hi so I keep popping my tube by landing a little heavy on the edges of things, like walls, bars and benches.

I was talking with someone and they recommended getting a tire with a harder sidewall but I cant really find any.

I run a around 20-24psi on 26" wheels, but im pretty light so its not just that.

so i was wondering if there is anything I can get like anti-pinch innertubes or something to put in my tire to prevent rim-biting?

Your main options are a combination of thicker tyres, thicker tubes, more pressure and learning to ride a little more smoothly.
A pretty foolproof setup would be something along the lines of a Conti Der Keiser/Baron, DH tube and running increased pressure (~35psi) but that adds weight and may be more than you need.
Start with the cheapest and work your way up (Y)

ill try out a higher pressure to begin with, but the last time I tried that I bounced off things quite a lot instead of gripping it. But that might have been because I was so great then.

But if I dont like that ill look towards getting thicker tire, I could do with replacing it anyway.

Thanks for the help.

It happens a lot more when you start out, thicker tyre for sure. It'll soon stop when you start riding a bit smoother, I still have my tyres harder than usual, gives me a bit more confidence knowing I won't hear the dreaded hiss of a pinch flat...

I have a couple spare try-all sticky tryes, they're old and quite bald but I can bring one on the next ride if you want to try one out (It's Dan btw... not that you couldn't guess..)

Ive got a maxxis "high roller" on now but it seems fairly ridgid. Cant afford a new tire at the moment so ill try some of the other combos before I pay for a new tire.

yeah dan if you can that would be great, you can have some money for them if you want?

(Yeah I saw the resemblance in your profile picture)

Thanks for the help people

also what would talcum powder actually do?

35psi Is a little hard for me, I prefer to run a lower pressure. I find it easier to land and grip on a lower pressure, when its high I'm getting bounced off things all the time.

I think the talcum powder method may work though. I forgot to check my pressures and I was running aroung 16-17psi and landed heavy gapping, I felt it pinch, but no puncture! I think.. I could be a slow one.

ive got a higher pressure now, and hopefully in the morning itll still be inflated.

What has trials become!? Who the hell thought this for the first time?

Been doing it for years haha, some tubes come with it in to try prevent it rubbing together and tearing it.

Like a lubeless condom

EDIT: Just realised people have already explained it, my post is now pointless haha
