FamilyBiker
As drug dealers in the 1990s were primarily concerned with the end users health, welbeing and value for money. Damn it, what ever happened?! hope i didnt misunderstood your post back in the days when i was taking this and that, here and there(not quite often though),it was like:production site-friend-me,so i cut that all out but all in all yes, there was more of that "someone does someone else a favour" behavior then, everything came frome people you know personally.and there were no "meows" and other non-finalized molecules,no crystal meth,no crack,no spice. nowadays all of that is flooding the streets in big cities, thats dangerous for kids being in the same age now as i was back then. those have the same will to try it all out as we got when we were young but only get todays dirty stuff Edited October 20, 2013 by FamilyBiker

Perez
Im boring I dont drink, smoke or do any drugs. People always ask why I dont, I always say why would I. After being Straight-edge for almost 20 years, and that answer is one of the best of all time! XxX Edited October 21, 2013 by Perez
casualjoe
Dunno about you, but the words 'straight edge' sounds like a sort of homophobic, nationalist uprising kind of name. A life of sobriety is a very cool choice though, everything's just fine as it is.
MadManMike
Straight edge sounds gay as hell. Don't touch drink or drugs, fine, but don't label yourself! I drink, but I wouldn't call myself a "drinker".
Muel
Straight Edge is about far more than just not drinking or taking drugs...I like the idea of it (basically looking after yourself and having pride in your mind and body), but I like beer, sex and pizza more. JT!
Weed has been decriminalized in Minnesota. However, if I use it I could still lose my job if they decided to piss test me... also if I have an accident at work and want to make a claim they should piss test me too and I'd get nothing. If it wasn't for that I think I might supplement my alcohol intake with weed.
JT!
With regards to the rest of the topic now I've read it.... I hate the term straight edge. I learned what it meant from a member of TF who got a tattoo it sprawled across his back. Hated the idea then, hated the idea now. We all do drugs, if you eat chocolate or drink coffee they're just very mild drugs. The term straight edges just locks you out, you can never touch any alcohol otherwise your self given title if tarnished. Where as if you claim just to not drink, and you don't do drugs then if you want a sip of champagne at a wedding you can without becoming some gigantic hypocritical oxymoronic dick. I also hate the idea that straight edge is a healthier option. We take recreational drugs to reduce stress. Maybe Joe this is where you're lacking from that point of view... my religion ...not believing in evolution. I agree with Mike and Muel on the whole straight edge thing. As for taking actual drugs, to me it's no different from the effect of skydiving. Or listening to music, or watching a movie. They change your mindset just to different degrees, the idea that taking a drug and a adrenaline rush and two separate things, one being this cool awesome enriching thing you have done the other being this unhealthy, bad, illegal, life worsening poison just shows a lack of open mindedness.
Azarathal
Sucks you still have to deal with testing, although saying that I'd quit smoking it for a job if I had to. As a guy from the states you might have some info, now the federal government has been reduced/disbanded does that mean legalised/medical state dispensaries can now pay their tax's like they want and can they operate without fear of federal agents shutting them down despite state laws? Joe O'Connor
...not believing in evolution. Not getting into a debate on this, but I do not exactly not believe in Evolution, I have very mixed thoughts on it and I sit somewhere in the middle. Put it this way, the book of Genesis is very vague on the creation of everything.Straight Edge is about far more than just not drinking or taking drugs... I like the idea of it (basically looking after yourself and having pride in your mind and body), but I like beer, sex and pizza more. This. If I was just a sober person then I would call myself sober, not straight edge.

Joe O'Connor
Straight edge sounds gay as hell. Don't touch drink or drugs, fine, but don't label yourself! I drink, but I wouldn't call myself a "drinker". Vegetarians label themselves instead of just saying they don't eat meat and Vegans do the same thing as well. Why cant sober people? Yeah some people do go way overboard with it, but being straight edge means a lot to some people and having something that gives them personal strength and meaning I support fully. If you use the straight edge label to act high and mighty over other people then you are a b*****d
Joe O'Connor
You love a good hit of endorphins though, right? Me? Hell yeah I do. I know chemically the same thing goes on in your brain with drugs as with fitness and all that. Id still rather achieve that endorphins hit through riding or going nuts at gigs. Even though I wont get in anyway as I don't believe in it
