You want a killer front disk brake, any of the new style shimano servo wave levers will do the job. I've had saints, and I'm now running a 2012 deore on a 203 rotor, and it's more than enough. It's nearly as powerful as the 4 pot saint. The bite and hold is epic. And I did it for £61 using brand new parts from various online shops. If you can afford it, get a shimano m810 saint, and a 203mm shimano ice tech rotor. There is no better disk brake than that out there at the moment

you got THAT lever but a plastic TPA?

I've never had any problems stripping TPA's if I'm honest!

Want to swap the ZOO! lever for a normal 4 finger one.

EDIT: After posting this and re-reading it, I have a sneaky suspicion that was sarcasm!;)

Lovin that lever extention :D

The bfo ones i found out performed the shimanos but for under £70 i cant argue with the epic value. Still not much choice on a rear though :( ideally they need to be similar on the fingers.

Im a fabricator, the idea had struck me too.. but ive been told by those in the know that rear disk isnt all that good on a stock so i abandoned the thought and went the traditional route. (Well unlike me)

Racing line are producing a lever the same as 05 magura lever with 4 finger blade which has a 13mm piston.

But an 05 magura and 4 finger blade has more than enough power.

I'm selling some 4 finger original blades to fit 05 if you need.

Ill eyeball those with the 13mm piston.. id been thinking of boring out a lever body and getting a bigger piston.

I'd need an 05 lever body if I were going to buy a blade.. ill look in the for sale section

the master piston has to be smaller to get more power, hydraulic transmission is surface by pressure-master : slave.

the smaller the masters surface is than the slaves,the more force transmission is present

for example a 14 mm master piston and 2 28mm slave pistons(example is a disc brake) has a power transmission of 1:4,means your fingers power is multiplied by the lever blades mechanical transmission,then by the hydraulic.

hypothetic calc:

100N force from finger x 6(say thats the mech transm.) x 4 =2400N resulting press force,thats 1200 per piston,nearly 120 kg.

with an average friction coefficient of the pad(lets take 0.5,isnt bad or good either) its 60 kg of static braking force applied to the braking surface (per side obviously).now you got the press force, this multiplied by the rim or disc diameter gives the torque load,which is basically what is slowing you down...

you see,it isnt just boring out a piece of alloy and get some o-rings,its a science for its own.

saying that making brake pads is one too ;)
